LONDON (AFP) - Protests took place around the world on Sunday to demand that world leaders act to prevent further bloodshed in Darfur on the fourth anniversary of the conflict's start.

The Global Day for Darfur, organised by a coalition of rights groups including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, saw activists around the world turn over more than 10,000 hourglasses filled with fake blood.

These are designed to convey the message that delaying intervention will cost even more lives in the troubled western region of Sudan.

The conflict has caused 200,000 deaths and led to two million people being displaced, according to the United Nations. Sudan contests the figures, saying that only 9,000 have died.

So what action do these lovable protesters want? Sudan consists of 4 major tribes all which are armed and few that like the government in place. It also homes Al-Quada which is also armed to the teeth.

Now if we "take action" some trees and flowers may just fall in the process that'll bring out these same lovely folk out screaming about us doing it for Darfurs vast oil reserves.

I got a GRAND idea.......for once lets put all these petunia pushers on a boat direct to Somalia so they can "talk" to the people and reason the situation out. :D

I was in jail with a dude from Sudan. He explained that parents from tribes send their kids to the west to avoid the wars. The kids get educated, get work and send money home to their families. In turn the families/tribes use that cash to buy weapons to kill others from the other tribes their in conflict with.................now why the hell should we get involved in that crap?

All these countries that didn't want any part of Iraq should do the "right thing" and put their resources to some good use........LOL, at least give it a shot without big bro's help for once.

The dude I was in jail with had a string of bullet scars starting from his upper chest slanting down. He got hit pretty good to say the least.

State disorderly........drinking to much in the wrong part of town. He got released a few days before me. Talked like he was heading back to L.A. but who knows.

VERY cool dude to say the least. With my interest about that region and his willingness to talk about it actually made my lil' visit a bit enjoyable. What REALLY suprised me is that with Sudan being a predominate Islam country they really didn't have any issues about Israel.......it's all tribal b.s.

Iknow but something should be done to stop the bloodshed. So should the U.N step in and send troops? It would be an idea but would it do any good in the long run?Who knows?Maybe you can have peace their who the fuck knows...
