This is my first grow, so before you flame, know that I've been doing a lot of research and reading constantly.

Planted 4/25 ~9pm
I'm doing this grow dynamically, as in, when I identify a need for something I figure out a way and do it. "pulling it out of my ass."
It started off with just a tub, some dirt, and a lamp with a 27w cfl. I installed a laptop exhaust fan on day 2, and day 3 I put in the circleline 30w fluorescent bulb.
The next tasks are more lighting and more dirt.
So far I've spent exactly $0 on this entire project. Trying to keep the budget as low as possible, but I know I'll have to drop some money at some point.

Any comments or pointers are welcomed.

how deep is that dirt and are you planning to transplant? If you are growing only in that box you will run out of vertical space soon so put up a screen. when they get bigger you will prob need some more light. does your tub have drainage?

I took them out today and added some nice rich soil from the local park, it's about 6 inches deep now. I watered and went to work for 6 hours and just now when I got back the leaves are very noticeably bigger, they're loving it.

I hadn't planned on transplanting. At this point I'm planning to apply LST that I've been reading up on and try to grow them horizontally.
By adding a screen are you referring to Scrog? I'll look up some info on that..
I'll be adding more lighting as my budget permits, and yes there's about 10 drainage holes on the bottom of the tub.

I dont know about that set up man, I dont think its going to be quite successful to be honest with you.

hum, it might work how ever its a bitch you donâ??t no the strain. 6 inch of soil isnâ??t really enough but again it might do. i think you may find the seedlings will stretch allot 2, as the light isnâ??t very bright - it might be wise somehow lowering your light for the time being. Your going to have to train them like bitch in a few weeks, ul need to keep everything as low as possible.. uv got at least 7 weeks be4 u can flower successfully and for all we now they might be some wild ass sativa.. take it as it comes man but dont hope for much just yet! :)

A possibility that I'm thinking about right now is adding another inverted tub on top of this one with the lights at the top to give more vertical room. More soil is always doable, and I just got a new (high paying :D) job today so money for lighting is solved.

Talking with my buddy about the high it gave us (we smoked it like 6 months ago) we think it's an indica, it came off some dank ass purp that we lovingly called "Darkness."
With some LST and after removing the male (I have this feeling that there's going to be 2 females) I think there'll be enough room.

Going to the store to buy some fertilizer for the vegging right now~

Checked out some lights at home depot today, decided to get two 18" fixtures for floros, will be mounting them in the tub, $21.97 each.. buying in about a week. I also want to get a hps, probably a 250, before flowering..

Picked up some 9-9-6 fert, "Holland bulb booster" 3.5lb for like 4 dollars, going to start feeding in about a week.

I also lowered the light, it's now about 3 inches from the leaves, they've bent toward it.. kind of worried about the angle they're going to grow as a result.

u might as well take the lid off and just hook up the hps. just use the tub as you would a large planter. :)

Yeah I know they're only seedlings, but the one in the middle named The Clown is going to be the male.
I don't know this for a fact, I'm just saying that's what I think is going to happen.

just into week 2, starting to show growth on third set of leaves, started 17/7 light schedule.

You will learn from trial and error what works and what doesnt. I would feed them until they show you signs of needing food. Walmart has some cfl's and plant lites if you look.
