ok, potential medical garage grow planning
1. garage is seperate from condo, so i'd have to open the door, close it, and garden
2. no water lines, just electric; so thinking soil just so don't have to haul water
3. i have a 250w hps for flowering, and some 26w cfl's for vegging
4. would like to have 3 flowering plants, 2 mothers, and perhaps 4-6 clones at a time
what i'm trying to decide is whether to grow in cabs or to drape black/white poly to use as grow walls
here's my pros/cons
-cabs are much more discreet, i'd have to hang some fabric or some other unfortunately conspicuous thing to block-off the hanging plastic "rooms"
-cabs are solid and easier to hang fans etc.
-cabs will be hotter, and will need better ventilation for hps
-cabs are easier to light-proof potentially
-cabs are smaller, and i worry about canopy blocking light to the lower leaves
-plastic walls are easily modified to be smaller or larger
and the list goes on; basically i'm stumped; if i do cabs, i'll buy a few "wardrobes" or the like used off craigslist.
the garage is in a row of garages, there is absolutely no ventilation, it's sealed off completely, so i'd just be exhausting the grow rooms into the rest of the garage; i don't see this as a big problem because the garage will be opened several times a day for fresh air
this is in southern california
i intend to run flowering room from 6pm to 6am, and vegging from 3pm to 9am, will most likely do gardening in the evening
i will be cloning and mothering
if anyone can think of a reason to go one way or the other, i'd really appreciate it; i have plenty of space (two car garage, and only one car in it) for whatever i want, i just want something simple and effective, that can control the heat well
