View Full Version : Decent soils in the uk

Im on the hunt for a decent soil in the yk i usually use john innes and add some perlite but i cant get it anymore the store stopped stocking it.So any uk growers out there that can recomend a decent soil or soil mix with products obtainable in uk garden centres.The brands of soil i can get i will list below and if anyone can add any input or suggestoins i would be greatful.I can get to a hydro store to get soil so its gotta be a garden centre product.the postman

Gem multi purpose potting compost

Bio sterile potting compost

J arthur bowles ( but this has a wetting agent in it)

focus own brand

b&q own brand

miricle grow organic

i have my own perlite and vercumlite

i use b&q general purpose compost,mixed with some perlite,never had any problems

a lot of people on uk420 use the westlands range, available from B&Q etc.

UK420 -> Non-Organic (http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?showforum=110)

BioBizz soil, Canna soil, both organic soils and not really expensive at £12.50 for 50litres at any hyrdo shop.
