View Full Version : Herd of Jets Flies Debating Democrats

A flock of small jets took flight from Washington Thursday, each carrying a Democratic presidential candidate to South Carolina for the first debate of the political season.

For Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden, it was wheels up shortly after they voted in favor of legislation requiring that U.S. troops begin returning home from Iraq in the fall.

No one jet pooled, no one took commercial flights to save money, fuel or emissions.

All but Biden, who flew on a private jet, chartered their flights _ a campaign expense of between $7,500 and $9,000.

Federal Election Commission rules allow candidates to pay only the equivalent of first-class fare to fly on private jets owned by corporations or other special interests. But a Senate ethics bill approved earlier this year would require senators flying on corporate jets to pay full charter rates. The legislation must still be reconciled with a House bill and has yet to become law.

hahaha yeah thats just like how Al Gore's (AKA Lockbox!) home is more of a cancer on the enviroment than Bush's ranch! I guess he figures if he buys enough of his carbon credits it'll make up for it in the long run...

Sooo, it's only when the democrats fly that it attracts national attention, How hypocritical is that? I'm sure Dick cheney needs that fuel guzzling 747 to fly back and forth to his ranch, and Dubya needs his to go on vacation to Crawford every 2-3 weeks. I'll wager the repubes have logged more wasteful miles in jets than the Dems ever thought of. To be honest, I wish they all had to take a train or the bus, would slow things down a bit.

Uuuuhhhhh, scuse me, but Al is a private citizen, right. US taxpayers are not paying for his jet fuel. And I think he is buying carbon offsets, something (although I don't approve of) that nullifies his usage of jet fuel. The issue was about democrats and Repubes either in or seeking seeking office, that leaves old Al out at this time, nice try though.

First off lets address the largest assclown to step foot into the Whitehouse.......Al Gore:

Al Gore defends his extraordinary personal energy usage by telling critics he maintains a "carbon neutral" lifestyle by buying "carbon offsets," but the company that receives his payments turns out to be partly owned and chaired by the former vice president himself.

Gore has built a "green money-making machine capable of eventually generating billions of dollars for investors, including himself, but he set it up so that the average Joe can't afford to play on Gore's terms," writes blogger Dan Riehl.
WorldNetDaily: Gore's 'carbon offsets' paid to firm he owns (http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=54528)

Real Leadership on Global Warming

Maybe I'm losing my mind (very possible) But didn't that link single out republicans that are poo-pooing global warming, a sound scientific fact understood by most with over an 80 IQ. I think your aim is off and you should see a podiatrist about that large hole in your foot. I am not excusing Gore or any of the elites that run around the world puffed up with self importance (Jet-set), hollering about global warming while contributing more in one day than most will in a lifetime, we're talking tons per hour of fuel consumption in large jets......, then get in their Prius and drive to the conference. Pretty Hypocritical, but it is not a single party issue. They all do it. That was my point...............

AL Gore on Global Warming ???........lol

Whats next, Ted Bundy on how to be more compassionate ??

Check Mr. Gores ties to a "little" company by the name of Occidential Petroleum.........

Because Al is a private citizen he can tell me to walk 8 miles to the mall as he does a fly-by in his Lear???? Wait, since the gov't isnt fueling up Al's Lear it means he is not leaving his "Carbon Footprints" ?? Oh, but wait, Al is buying "carbon whatevers" to offset his jet trail in the sky. But, seems Al is purchasing those from himself. Talk about a tangled web.......wowzers...

This is getting as complicated as the details of Hilary's "cattle futures trades"........LOL

Al is laughing all the way to the vault as he preaches this bullshit. LEAD by example should you want to attract my attention. Talk about hypocrisy.

DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO.......LOL Yeah, ok Al. I'll get right on that.

Have a great weekend all,

What a load of c............ Just pick on Al day. Tell us what you've done that is so beneficial to humanity. When someone who is not right of John Birch tries to do something for humanity, all you hear is negative criticism. What about the dick (Cheney) and his flights in that huge 747 to go to wyoming or where ever his ranch is, all the repube senators that fly. Hey wake up, they all are doing it. At least Al knows it's wrong and is balancing his usage. I am against all Jet flights, but in the real world that is not a practical viewpoint. People that live in the flightpaths are always being drenched with excess jet fuel, They jettison it for any emergency and guess what, it doesn't hang up in the air, but lands on whatever is beneath it. I has been proven to be cancerous, even spent fuel, that black shit you see coming out the back of the planes is cancerous, so "breath deep the gathering gloom"!

Uh huh... This might be an issue, if each of the candidates flew solo, as opposed to with a small army of aides and personal.

And if republicans were known for carpooling.

But as such it's apparently just an excuse to bitch about... Al Gore? Who's not even a candidate...

Nice one. One wonders why republican leadership leads the country into a gaping hole only to have the question answered again and again by examples like this.
