Good to see you again crispi - glad to see you are still running the drip/dwc too. What kind of drippers are you using? I don't see a ring anymore.

I just got the final touches on the recirculating waterfarm installed tonight and I'm running it overnight to make sure there's no major leaks before I put plants in it. I used most (maybe all) of the mods you recommended on your old one. I'll post it up in that waterfarm club thread tomorrow.

Hey crispi, got a clone update, those ones that got the wilt-pruf dunk and didn't die immediately actually are still perky and look like they could survive! Even though they are definitely very very badly damaged.

I took the rest of the mix that I had made for the dunk, and put it in a mist bottle, and took a crapload more clones last night, just the boring old way that worked for me so well before, and actually put them back in the room where I had the most success... lol... if that's the only difference I am going to slap myself. Now they are sitting on the chest freezer in my pantry and I misted them with the wilt pruf + copper, and put the humidity dome on REALLY crooked so the ambient %RH is elevated but still not as high as it had been last time.

Hey Stinky ,
We removed all but 1 - 18w. cool cfl. from the clone cab. and the clones quit w/ the new growth , and the lower leaves I questioned cutting off have picked back up . I need to lift the R/R's up out prop. tray -n- check for roots tonight , it's been 7 days now I think .

here are some pix of the bucket (i know, it's not clean. just got them today from a feed and seed store, they'd been sitting outsid for a looooong time) the issue to work on is the lid; my biggest concern will be yeild, if i could do best with one plant per 15g, great, if two per bucket would be better, cool. i just need to get an idea for them. i don't have measurements, but it's about 24" tall, and 18"x14" wide sqaure. these are guess measurements, i could be way wrong, and probably shouldn't put that in yet, but....:p

Hey Scarlet ,
Im seeing those 6in net pots w/ edges trimmed trimmed off , a 6 in hole in big side of lid w/ net pots zippy tied in place . Hook em all together w/
1/2 in. tubing and fittings like we do the farms and a pump bucket to recirculate them . Hell you wont even have to lift plants up to check roots , just lift the lid .

crispi; the thing with that is, the big side is the side that flips up. the little side is supposed to stay. it's a pitb to get off once it snaps closed. four 3'' net pots will fit on the little side (though i wouldn't do four...) what i was thinking (can you smell the smoke yet? swear something's burning...) is that i can put three 3'' pots in the little side; if i do a run with tiny indica's, i can do three per bucket (the dg could have had plenty of room three to a bucket) and if i want to grow a sativa tree, i can do just the one pot. hmmm.... i do not know...

also, i don't have anything large enough to act as a res for these three. so for now, i'm thinking sepparate. but, i need to put some kind of drain valve at the bottoms, because there is no way i can lift these things full of water, much less lug them out.

hmm, i'd love to use a 6''... maybe i can dremel most of the lip that holds the fixed end of the lid down, so it pops up easy...then i can have an indica bucket and a sativa monster bucket...leaving a third bucket...

...

...

:p

Weedhound
04-29-2007, 01:54 AM
Yes DEFINITELY something to drain.....and a way to bring water in easily....about say 45 gallons of it? I have that same sort of funky tops on my rez...1/2 opens if you want and frankly....I hate them. The half that is supposed to stay open doesnt all the way....rant rant . What about some sort of piece of plastic (hard plastic) that you lay accrosse the top....then you can lift all pots out easily by lifting the plastic with the pots in it.

onequickmove
04-29-2007, 02:55 AM
why make yourself use a plastic pot that's not right when buying a cheap dwc system or a paint bucket is so easy? i mean, you'll be spending money on the grow anyway, no reason to skimp just because you found a bucket that might work, unless of course it works well for you, but if it's a pain, why bother?

Back w/ a few pics n ideas ,
The 4 snl x nev. hz. plants were topped 1 week ago today w/ some varried results a lil bit of tucking huge fan leaves in . The masochistic side of me wants to chop some fan leaves soooooo bad because alot of the new growth shoots are being blocked out .:chainsaw: And the extra 3way X mom thats getting flowered on the left - already gettin a lil yellow from my lack of dirt talents . lol .

I have a cpl. ideas -n- wanna experiment a lil w/ dif. stressers verses no stress . Not a very controlled exp. though as 2 plnts are in hydro , and 2 in dirt .

1- I'd like to cut a few fan leaves off w/ a razorblade on 1 .
2- steralize a pair of needlenose pliers and pinch a cpl. fan leaves off another .
3- fold the fan leaves up on 1 plnt n tie it up w/ a plastic coated bread tie .
4- all natural / just tucking .

Im curious about the speed of recovery w/ just an open wound verses the wound being pinched closed - and also if theres any dif. w/ tucking verses folding and the low stress options .

Im def. no cloning guru yet . so no pics yet . 1st try of 3 = grew a few roots but by that time that happened the top of the plants were down right Fugly . Gonna keep trying though w/ lotsa new tricks , ideas and experimentation an Stinkys behalf . Thanx sis . :hippy:

Been playin w/ electricicty in the new room lately and added a pair of 15 min. delays on the 2 -hps. to prevent premie bulb and ballast failures from hotstarts from brownouts and power outages in the ghetto before my nat. gas gen. can catch em .

I have a single 40amp 240v. line into a greenair controller w/ 4-10amp. 120v. outlets all gov. by the same timer. 2- w/ 15 min. delays for the 2 hps , 1-w/ a dual outlet fan speed controller for the 2 - 630cfm hurricanes , and the last outlet for the 6 ft. intellitrac light mover .

Only running 1 blower and 1 hps this grow . Next grow will be in fall / winter w/ less heat and humidity and I'll do 4 or 6 hydro buckets and fill the room and hopefully show off a lil w/ strains I already know rock -n- roll and foot my med. needs . :D

More pics. soon hopefully w/ the dif. methods of meaness , verses kindness and the end results . :greenthumb:

Peace all

Thanx Tokudai.
We're workin on some pretties for in there huh ??? :)

Nice and cool w/ all the concrete but still 80% humidity due to them being cellar dwellers . Damn glad we got a huge dehumidifier going = 40-45% :D

Yep overkill on the blowers , even w/ just 1 - at 630 cfm running , and the other one acting as a giant cork thats still inline = room temps of 75 deg. , = glass c/t surface temp is 85 deg. , and leaf surface temps = 72 deg. all measured w/ temp gun from the hotrod stuff . Gearhead tools in the growroom rock !! I cant get much closer than 6 in. w/o bleaching .

So few plants this time because we've been doing all the flowers for our yard and border plants , 5-6 flats = :hippy: It's the only way I could talk the Mrs. into such a sweet rooms if she could play w/ her flowers too . Fair trade ?

All white , even the dirty industrial epoxied floor which needs a good washing . Looks like a hospital or asylium in there . It could be run as a seald room w/ very little effort but Im not very interested in co2 to be honset .

The ballasts and res. are outside to room too help w/ hum. / temp. Even the incoming cooltube air is filterd so we dont have to dust insides of cooltube via. the furnace filter on wall in the 1 pic. w/ all the darkroom vents for passive exhaust . We only have a 250 cfm booster fan for fresh air intake but they dont seem to mind the room being slightly pressurised .

Hi Weedhound ,
Right now I bet theres room for your stuff too I bet :) it's 10' x 12' .

Hey Haze ,
I suck w/ dirt grows . So take this w/ a grain of salt - I don't wanna be the demise of anyone elses hard work . Those 2 in dirt get fed whatever happens to be in my hydro res. diluted by 50% w/ clear ph'd water . I use everything you are nute wise and I use Latewoods 3 part recipe , check it out on here , your gonna want it if you switch to DWC like I was told you were . Even if you went 1-2-3 w/ 3 part and used it at 1/2 strength you should be ok feeding every 2nd watering like you are now .

Dual cooltubes w/ a pair of 1000w. hps . aprox 300,000 lumens . It's way overkill for the lil bit in the room now but sure makes things happen fast . Next grow will be 6 hydro buckets and should fill the room pretty good .

Hey Doco ,
Hydro is amazing . Your seeing it 1st hand for yourself now . It's not even growth it's metamorphisys - like the incredible hulk -n- shit . I did 1 grow in a c-13 cabinet w/ a 250 hps. and was shocked . Cabinets just not big enough - I caught the bug bad . You mentioned your already thinking outside the hut 2 huh ? Look in my burns / amputations thread -n- nab contact info man - were the same age / walk of life - Holler !

Aheadatime ,
I've been tinkerin around and playin for almost 18 yrs. now . I don't buy junk equipment - I look for stuff w/ 5 -10 yr. warranties . 2 cool tubes ,
2- 1000w/ hps ballasts , 2- eye hortilux bulbs , 1- 6 ft. intella track lt. mover , 2 - 630 cfm hurricane blowers = probably $1250.00 .

The 4 gang greenair timer , 2 - hotstart relays , and fan speed controller to power everything up safely = prob. $425.00 .

Sounds expensive ?
My last grow of 4 hydro plants yielded just under 3 lbs. and killer in my area is 350.00 - 400.00 an oz. . So in 4 mos. time I theroetically saved myself about $17,000.00 in meds. :)

Im like Doco BTW , NOT the dopeman !!
Everything you view here is for personal comsumption as Im an acknoledged and registered mmj user . I wouldn't sell my own mother a doobie .

Hey, Crispi. How's things? Things look good from here. I could've sworn I posted here before, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, your setup is pimp. Love the room. Nice plants, man. I hear you about the cost of things. I'm the same way. I'd rather spend the $$ to do it right and get smoke I can equate to street bought and save bundles of $$ and lots of time/risk. Keep it up, man. :)

I agree with both of you.....anything you skimp on now will be back to bite you in the ass later imo. I see the exact same issue in my work where folks don't want to pay the $25.00 for a vaccine for their pet and then end up spending several thousand when the animal comes down with the same disease or try to go the cheap route with things like flea products, the cheapest food etc which ends up costing the same or more because they're poorly made and don't work to begin with. Cheap stuff like Hartz etc can actually cause MORE issues with problems and poisoning....all things that cost money to fix. Amazingly, that's why that stuff is cheap. :wtf:

I'm getting off my soapbox now.....:)

Well folks another update ,
Finally got the r/o system up and running . water is 4 ppm now but haven't gotten the chance to change the res. yet to check the stability of p/h now . waiting on a new waterproof ph pen . lol . ooops .

The hydro plants are beasts now and dwarf the 5 gal. buckets , they're crazy . Probably gonna have to start tying the lower growth to the main stalks so nothing droops far enough it snaps .

The dirt plants already have flowers the size of nickles now and are much further matured than the hydro .

Peace all

Today is the 5th week in flower , ppm is up to 1600 w/ the shot of Koolbloom they got this time . xcrispi

Weedhound - Are you having to hold them up already or is that the proactive approach for when.....? = One of the 3 dirt plants behind these 2 already had a branch bend / topple from weight so we tied these up before there were any such problems . No clones yet - been to busy / lazy . :smokebong:

Deft - Our systems are the same except we just ran a 2nd airline right down the pump coloum w/ the 2 other existing tubes to power the airstone . These aren't that big believe it or not , My mentors back in the days of Overgrow = Krusty - BOG - and SoQuick could get up to 3 lbs. or more per bucket w/ just DWC no drip . They have much more headroom and light than I though , they topped more than once too . Search for "Crispis' growings ons" for more info on my set-up , 2000w btw. Never ever done a complete grow log , just a cpl. pics. every now and then . :)

Stinky- I got a spare bucket ? I won't tell , honest . :D

Earthly Dank - I don't keep track of veg. time ? They get topped once at 14-16 in tall , given 7-14 days to recover and push out all the new tops and then flip them . Nutes are G/H 3 Pt. using Latewoods recipe + cal/mag , cpl. drops of superthrive , and Koolbloom from the 4th-8th week of flower .
No staggered harvest , can only afford and keep up w/ 1 room . I usually do 4 at a time - takes about 5 mos. start to finish - last 4 yielded 3 lbs. on the money . Do it twice a yr. and have between 6-8 lbs. of killer , never ever ever smoke regs again . :D

Peace all

Hey folks ,
Ran into problems w/ recirculation about 4 days ago . The root systems are just as huge and crazy as the buds . Roots have been pluggig up the inlet and outlet to the 2 buckets allowing the control/pump bucket to run dry = burnt up pumps . We used drain fittings w/ screens / strainers from flood tables to prevent this from happening anymore .

Plants are almost in the 7th. week of flower now and really packin on the weight , have had to do lots of tying up and supporting of huge budded branches and colas . More pics. tonight after lights are on .

Here's some good reading from our pal Ed .
I never tried it before but have been using it for the past 10-14 days . w/ no adverse effects , it stays mixed up well too unlike molasses . We'll see if it makes any dif. in taste / density .

Ed rosenthal -
>I??ve got a sweet tooth for sugary, candy-flavored ganja. In fact, sugar is
>not only the cannabis plant??s source of energy for growth; it??s also the
>primary factor that determines how good your favorite herb will taste when
>you smoke it. In my many years of horticultural experimentation, I??ve tried
>many different sugar supplements to augment my plants?? health and flavor,
>and I want to share a few of my favorites. Some of this information will be
>a refresher course for seasoned growers, but I??d like to start at the
>beginning for the introductory grower and briefly explain the importance of
>sugar to plants. Plants make their own sugars (carbohydrates) through
>photosynthesis. Plants combine light energy (from the sun or a
>high-intensity discharge lamp) with water and CO2 from the atmosphere (or a
>CO2 tank or burner), and the result is sugar. This sugar is the essential
>source of energy that??s utilized for all cellular division and the
>formation of plant structures (i.e., huge, dank buds). Now, you can??t grow
>a plant in the dark by watering it with sugar, but under otherwise good
>growing conditions, you can supplement your nutrient solution with extra
>sugars to boost the natural levels created by photosynthesis and make your
>plants more vigorous and productive. The real icing on the cake, though,
>comes from the fact that a little extra sugar will improve not only the
>yield of your garden but also the flavor of your favorite herb.
>For serious growers and/or gadget collectors, you can even measure the
>amount of sugar (on this scale, we call it ??brix,? pronounced bree) in your
>plant with a device called a refractometer. Don??t shy away from the fancy
>name if you??re afraid of complicated devices; this tool is super-easy to
>operate. Using a sap extractor (or a pair of pliers), you can squeeze a
>drop of juice out of a leaf and then place it on the refractometer??s
>viewing plate. Look through the lens and you will see an obvious line
>running across a column of numbers. Brix readings above 12 indicate good
>plant health and a strong immune system. With a device like this, you??ll
>impress your friends (??Oooh?a refracto-what??) and also be able to detect
>when a change in your feeding program or environment affects your crop as
>the readings go up or down. Frequent checks of brix content in leaf tissue
>will tell you whether your plants are on course or falling behind. Peaceful
>Valley Farm Supply sells refractometers for $100, and you can find them
>online at groworganic.com.
>Until about seven or eight years ago, using sugar as a plant supplement was
>a little-known trick more often employed by grandmothers on their
>houseplants than ganja growers on their herb. But now the hydroponics
>market is full of sugar (carbohydrate) supplements. In the beginning, there
>were several glucose-based products, such as Carbo Load, Carbo Max, Karbo
>Boost, etc. These are very cost-effective products as far as plant
>supplements go, but they??re not as cheap as raw glucose itself (usually
>sold as dextrose or corn sugar??it??s really the same thing), available at
>brewery-supply outlets and online for just over $1 per pound??less than $1 a
>pound if you buy in bulk. While glucose is readily available to plants as a
>form of supplemental carbohydrates, it??s just one form of a simple sugar
>and lacks the rich flavor found in other, darker kinds of sugar. It can
>also be difficult to dissolve: If you dump a large amount into water all at
>once, it has a tendency to form into a gelatinous wad of goo (of which even
>a small amount can wreak havoc in a hydro garden with small drippers or
>emitters). To avoid this, dissolve the amount necessary for your reservoir
>into a beaker of warm water first and pour off the dissolved liquid. Leave
>any undissolved materials at the bottom of the beaker and add more water
>until fully dissolved. The use of these products will indeed boost brix
>levels, but it doesn??t do much for flavor enhancement, which is what this
>article is all about.
>My all-time-favorite source of supplemental sugar isn??t sold by a
>plant-nutrient company. It??s Sucanat??a form of dark raw sugar sold as a
>sweetener for foods in natural-food stores everywhere. But Sucanat is a
>great sweetener for your sinsemilla, too. Made by Wholesome Sweeteners,
>Sucanat is short for ??Sugar Cane Natural,? a dried cane extract available
>for under $3 per pound. Sucanat is darker than most organic sugars and has
>a more molasses-like consistency to it because it hasn??t been separated or
>refined. It will increase the brix content in plants, but the darker sugar
>has more vitamins and minerals and a rich caramel aroma as well. Sucanat
>dissolves readily in hot water and doesn??t seem to turn into goo like
>dextrose does.

Should have it all over out there by you w/ all the vegans , -n- health nut crowd . It's almost finer than powderd sugar / almost flour consistancy . Insulating walls , vapor barrier / 5 mil. visc. , then shower surround material . =

Keeps the cool in in the summer .
Way way easier to clean up .
Almost 0 chance of mold .
Might even be more reflective too ?

Image Reaper - big favor to ask man ?

Next time your at HomeDepot might you take a flashlight and your light meter w/ you ? I'm curious what kind of reflective properties the 4 x 8 ft. sheets of the white pebblegraind shower surround material have ? I'm thinking of insulating this room , vapor barrier , and do this entire room w/ it . Light meters about the only cool toy I'm lacking now .

I'm curious about that shower-wall material too, but the plain white fake tile kind -I actually have a couple sheets left over from redoing my kitchen walls.

But I think that stuff has potential for building a GREAT easy-to-dismantle grow box 4x4x8 feet.

Markass got here yesterday afternoon despite no luggage thanx NWA-WTF !!!! :wtf: Hoping I don't bore him to death , we live quite the mushy / slow lifestyle :stoned:

Today is week 9 in the growings ons and still just milky trichs , We snatched a piece of The Church last night and poped it into the vaporiser and still got quite the heady up high from it but was hoping it was further along so we could atleast chop the 3 dirt plants and get the hydro each under it's own 1000w. to hurry things along . They ever find Markass luggage well have a loupe to take trich pics on the dirt plants and see if there's any amber yet or not . Only have a 60 x scope and it's almost to fine at that power to view much of an area to find amber muchless base any kind of ratio / concensus .
Heres some more pics. were gonna go get Markass some clothes and try n locate a loupe or good mag. glass for trich pics for you guys .

from what I could tell in the pics it still looks like ya got a bit of time especially if you want a 50/50 split

Filtering the air before it goes through the tube is a great idea...goin from filter to light to fan to exhaust seems to be the method of choice for most setups...just wonderin how hot the rest of your basement is getting that's about the only thing left to worry bout cause it might be an issue for my setup...

even with the cooltubes you still have fans blowing air over the plants right?

My 400watter isn't vented I just have a small fan blowing directly into the reflector which keeps it cool to the touch so I have to figure the plants would be happy even pressed right up to it I've had really good luck with my sunlight setup and the ballast doesn't even really get warm to the touch like I've heard horror stories about

for the new 600 digital I'm goin with 6" ducting which should keep things frosty...did you have any snags when setting up yours? do you have enough in the room to warrant the use of the mover I was wonderin how the flex ducts held up with that

as for the girls it seems all the adjectives have been taken so  keep up the good work

Oh, yea, and for the record, I have had my luggage lost at least a couple of times. One time, someone else took my bag, flew to some other city and then realized it. They just left it there. F**ckers. I eventually got it, but they made no effort to get it back to me quickly. They even had the nerve to say that it was labeled wrong and had their daughter's name on it. Liars. I had at least 2 tags with my name on it AND an identifying mark.

Anyway, thought I'd add that. lol

Blahhhhhhhh ,
The smoke has finally cleared and Marc was back on the plane at 7am this morning on his way back to BFE . Way cool ppl. and always welcome back , even our crazy dogs took a liking to him , the lil bully dog Zoie is still lookin for him.

In the begining we were trying the Snl x Nev. Hz to find something that wasn't so couchlok yet still had good medicinal qualities too - we cut and manicured the 3 dirt plants at 5-10% amber to see if it produced an up buzz for us , and it gave us more room to play w/ the hydro monsters and staggered them in the room so they could be moved closer to the lights . The hydro still has a good 10 days or maybe more to go . We flushed out the system and started just plain water and sucanat a few days ago so they use up all stored nutes and chems. yet still have access to lotsa carbos cause I like fat girls . ;)

ASD - just wonderin how hot the rest of your basement is getting etc...? = My basement is usually between 70-75 degrees w/o our central a/c running .

ASD- even with the cooltubes you still have fans blowing air over the plants right? = Yes even w/ cooltubes we keep a 16 in osc. wall-mount fan
running 1 hour on / 15 min. off during flowering to keep stems strong and keep air moving to ward off mold .

ASD - do you have enough in the room to warrant the use of the mover I was wonderin how the flex ducts held up with that .= Honstly if I had it to do over again = no mover . This room evolved to what it is thru almost 20 yrs. of changes , trials , errors . At 1 point in time there was a single 1000w in a vertizontal non/aircooled hood so I bought the mover to cover more area = I shoulda just got the 2nd. 1000w. then . It took an extra 5 bloody weeks to flower a grow this big because the damn lights on the other end of the room 50% of the time  right now the lights are only moved 12 in max. but has moved as far as 4 1/2 feet still usung flex duct w/o any probs. bk in the day .
Im seeing the addition of another cooltube here , and maybe 3 - 600w hps in a row w/o any mover instead of the 2 -1000's , insulation / shower sourround material and a wall mount a/c in here in the future too . It's a disease so be very careful !! :D

Weedhound - Can I borrow Mark next? = If you can keep up w/ this young stuff , sure Sis. :D 2 pans of vapo duff brownies in 6 days not to mention what we bong'd , bowl'd -n- blazed on top of em . Marc eatin brownies on the plane going home too lol . Were all gonna hang eventually so you better build your tolerence up now Sis. :D

Celeste - crispi, i just took a walk in the woods and found some very sparkley buds.... if i post some pix, can you edit them for the close ups? i'm by no means a photographer.... = I can try , If I can't Marc can .

Orangeman - Wow now those are some close ups. Please let me know what you used because I'm gonna buy that for my camera. That tool is much better for looking at trichomes than those hand microscopes. = I think I have a pic. of 1 already and I'll add it to this post .

All of these pics. in this thread were "NOT" photoshopped -blown up - or resized . We own the same poo poo $100.00 5 mp. camera you do . You just need the new technological hi-tech super photo weapon that was given to me by Marc , and a lil practice . A 30x jewlers loupe is held right up against the cameras lens and your pics. can look like Subcool , Jilly , -n- Marcs' too . Thanx again bro. - G/B for coming and hangin

Hey Rock , Lip , Orangeman , and Weedhound .
No lighting up the city Sis. I'd gain 4-5 inces of headroom w/o the lightmover , and I'd actually be saving money on the electric bill and increase coverage too . 2 x 1000 = 2000w verses 3 x 600 = 1800w . This wont be happening in the near future though , it'll end up w/ shower sorround material / insulation and a wall mount a/c first . I still have 3 new 1000w hortilux bulbs to use up and I still can't find a good deal on enhanced spectrum hps 600w bulbs yet .

More pics. in a few days .
Peace
Crispi

alwayssleepdeprived
07-19-2007, 03:47 AM
there are some benefits to the 1k bulb...it seems the filament is much bigger and wears better than the smaller ones but the 1k has some interference issues and a few other quirks I remember a few growers over the years that without a light mover they prefer the 600w setup and especially with the extra output of the digitals it seems like a decent way to go

I went with 240v cause I dunno it's just better all around besides adding the outlet...as bongerstonerdood would say...BFD ;)

if the lights are positioned right and the wind blowing on the plants is sufficient enough to bend the buds around light will get in more sites anyway *shrugs* it might help overall weight but as but sites increase bud size decreases

at the moment my feeding schedule is maxibloom, koolbloom and ph up/down as needed almost solely up I found my ph started dropping before finishing the seedling stage no other addatives and it's going well probably going to easily overtake last run and 1/4 the price for nutrition can't be beat

I was wonderin crispi have you had a single cured plant yield more than 1 pound yet? that is almost the time where you throw it up and roll around in it haha

xcrispi
07-24-2007, 02:58 PM
I been a busy bee ,
Weedhound made a redwood tree remark way back when I built the DWC /Drip combo buckets . = Not quite yet Sis. , but they have the beginings of what I think is actual bark on them . In the future we may need to borrow the Image Reapers Mac 101 to chop the plants down . :chainsaw:- pic.

Both hydro plants were manicured and chopped 2 days shy of 11 weeks . Took 2 ppl. 10 hours to manicure them and all the trimmings are in the deepfreeze so we can make gumby hash again . 1 plant is an easy lb , the other is 12 oz. or better . Not bad for only being topped once . - pic.

ASD welcome back man , I've done alot of reading n research and I don't honestly know if 3 - 600's would be an improvement . 2-1000w. = 290,000 lumens , 3 - 600w. = 315,000 lumens . But the 600's dont have the penetration of a 1000w. ? Wthe 1000's run below the canopy and spinning the pots all the time Im getting no underdevoloped buds / sucker branches - they fill in too and become extra colas the size of the ones on my dirt plants .

ASD- I too have the probs w/ constant ph drop too , just ordered a gallon of g/h ph up . They drop almost a full point everyday and I refuse to run my crippled ass up -n- down my basement stairs to adjust ph 2-3 times a day . Just once a day and I have had no adverse effects / nute lok out etc...

ASD - Have I ever gotten a 1 lb. plant using this style . = Yep . 17 oz is my personal best , and one of these 2 is just as big .

Here's a pic. of the girls all beat up , stripped naked -n- violated . They're now hung up w/ 35% humidity and the 16in. osc. fan going on them till they're good -n- dry .

Final weights on the dirt plants and some up close and personal pics. of the hydro are coming soon .
Peace everybody

Hey Fog ,
I try to do 2 plants per each horiz. 1000w bulb . I zippy tie bamboo stakes to the inside of the rim of the pot and tie the tops up to it instead of tyin them to the ceiling cause it makes em hard to rotate . I spin them 90 deg. every day .

I wish I could top them twice but It's just too much work tyin stuff up so it doesnt break from weight . 16 - 17 oz. isn't very hard to pull from each plant w/ a lil practice - Hell Krusty used to pull 3.5 lbs per 5 gal. bucket easily w/ a record I believe to be a 5 lb. monster . Those are OG guys, right? I was not around back then, but funny how I'm starting to know a lot of the names. Haha...unless I'm wrong :o

So, you're saying 31 lbs from 10k watts...???

Let me do that math real quick...

28g x 16 x 31 = 13,888g

divided by 10kw = 1.38 gpw?!?

Holy crizzap...! That's quite a bit of weight. Would that be almost considered KBS?

I think the rotating the plants helps a LOT...

Have you heard of the 30* angle rotation. I think I heard it first on Zandor's podcast...

That bud looks really nice. Nice macro shots. I like the 2nd one. So you have a Vapor Bros?? What's your opinion on that. Apparently Storm Crow has one of those, too. I want a vaporizer. I'm leaning towards buying a Volcano (made a thread about it in recreational) (http://boards.cannabis.com/recreational/125732-volcano-vaporizer-your-opinions.html), but I'm wondering if it's worth all the money. Should I just get a Vape Bros...or a Vapezilla...or is the Volcano really worth it? What do you think? You mind taking a look at my thread, plz? Thx.

What's the smoke report? after 11 weeks I bet it's gotta be packing a punch even for a sativa was it just the size that took the time or the strand?

The 1000w lumateks are the best as far as I'm concerned even though 600's can get a little closer the drop off in intensity is unacceptable if you were buying new

modest benefits I came by while reading...

240v is better and works out cheaper than 120v and the 1000 240 is more efficient than the 600 240
bulb life and performance(the 1k's have a bigger filament) ages much better
ballast efficiency(1k produces less heat per lumen output)
less reflectors/hangers/venting setups/wiring etc

thanks for all the answers on the last few questions I've had by the way I'm still trying to get everything put together and maybe if I'm lucky it will come out 1/2 as good as yours ;-)

Hey everybody ,
Fog - those are old overgroe ppl. I believe So Quick is still at it and over at I/C Mag. now . His crazy 31lb. garage biz. was indeed Krusty Freedom Buckets .

Im way blown away w/ the dirt yields . finally got some #'s today .
The 1 Church plant = 75 G.
The 2 Snl x Nev. = 208 G.

10 oz. from 3 dirt plants is good for me . Im a soil misfit like Weedhound . :) From now on in summer Im thinking of doing 12 dirt plants at a time in 3 gal. pots and Just do hydro in the fall / winter when heat and humidity arent so hard to battle . I don't wanna buy a res. chiller or a wall mnt. a/c yet .

Before the next grow we are gonna insulate , vapor barrier , and either marlite paneling or shower souround material the 2 interior walls and the ceiling for easier temp / odor control . Removing 1 of the 630 cfm blowers due to overkill . And adding a 1000 gph industrial airpump to power the airstones in the next 4 bucket grow . 4 buckets -4 dif. strains for some variety and no heat to fight due to flowering in the fall .

I'll post some yield #'s for the hydro plants soon , it's ready to be taken off the branches now and be poped into jars .

Peace

You might want to look into framing walls, insulating then drywalling. It would be cheaper in the long run and painted walls reflect as well as the stuff you want to use.

Wow thats a hell'uva lotta trimming -n- manicuring ,
It's all in jars ready for a months cure . The hydro plants yielded a combined 34 ounces . 1 at 19oz. and 1 at 15 oz. 19 oz. is a new personal record to BTW . These numbers do NOT reflect the 2 - 1gal. ziplok freezer bags crammed fulla the under dev. popcorn sized junk . Just the colas and nugz . The scrap and trimmings will become gumby hash soon . :)

The 1st 3 pics are of the 19 oz. plant

The next 2 pics. are the 15 oz. plant
The cola to the right of the lighter is over 2oz. just by itself .

5 plants = 3 dirt , 2 hydro. together = 44 oz.
Time to go do some mods. to the room add a much larger dwc air pump and do it all over again .
Peace

Nothing better for me than seeing nice fat colas, freshly trimmed ready to cure. I'm just imagining the flavour now from the first toke of a joint.

Bloody good work my friend! I think i can remember your last bit of gumby that you made, or at least last time you posted. I've literally just had a hit of some polm.

Take it easy Crispi.

xcrispi - nice grow and setup, its amazing how those plants grow and produce the amount they do. i saw what you said about so quik harvesting 31 lbs off 10 plants under 10k watts that is just un fucking believable, i wonder how he gets away using that much electricity... 31 lbs could make you 100 g's atleast (legally) :D

I haven't seen much of S/Q since the days of O/G ,
Last time I saw him was on I/C Mag . You might be able to track him down there -n- learn a little more . His 24 x 24 garage was a seald sytem using CO2 I think . We can't talk about pirate boxes -n- bypassing meters and stuff now here w/o fear of being banned etc... but thats what I'm bettin on .

3-5 lbs. per 5 gal. bucket isn't hard to do w/ determination and the right equipment . Search Shaggytruedope on here . he's got some 3 lb. monsters .

Xcrispi, you are indeed my new idol. For one, i am induced into believing you may be a "BUCKNUT", but that's a guess, the other, you grow some of the greatest plants i have ever seen. take me on, be my leader, I NEED YOU!!!!!
