I guess this is my theory but life is a treat and the point of it is to have a good time. I know this sounds like classic hippy talk but hippies got it right. Politics and paper currency are not natural. Life is a gift and who needs school to be happy? It sucks for me cause i come from a middle class family where education is a must and drugs are evil lol. It is gona be dificult for me to escape my fear of disipointing everyone. I would be more happy living a simple life with marijuana. I for one hate fallowing laws that effect noone but yourself. Theft is terrible along with murder but drug laws and regulations are jokes. The government has no business medling in peoples persute of happyness. My 2 cents peace

I always thought the meaning of life would be at least a 4-page essay.

I agree absolutely, brother. I couldn't count the number of times a huge part of me had wished that I could just tell society to fuck itself and go live in the woods with weed and organic food. Perhaps one day I'll do that for a few months or something.

Well then mine would be an essay that contradicted itself every other sentence. The meaning of life is escaping fruitless thought and embracing reality with sincerity and courage.

True. Everything thing you hear and everything you see is all your life will ever be.

Life is like a box of chocolates. You can either eat it all at once and regret that you have no more left, or you can savor the taste and flavor, and make it last.

I disagree. The point of life is to live.

ah yes, the standard hippie failing...

Worry about nothing more than your own personal happiness, realise your movement has changed nothing, that you've simply grown older, put on a tie and become middle-management, and have too much fear to simply kill yourself out of frustration.

hedonism is only one path to complete emptiness...

good luck with that.

It is to live "Now" and "be" and accept things for what they are.

meaning is an invention of man. there is no meaning or ultimate purpose to life that you dont give yourself. society has created a kind of goal that is the closest you can get to why are we here. what is the meaning of life is a question with no answer and is one of the big reasons religion exists, so people can have a sense of purpose or believe that maybe their lives will add up to something. look at it this way, before we evolved, learned to speak and use technology outside of stone tools, what was the meaning then. what is the meaning of life for a bird. the only instinctive goal is survive and reproduce. so life really has no meaning, but that doesnt mean it cannot be enjoyed or that you cant care about things. i could go on and on on this but im not going to

Existence precedes essence. Life is what you make it, you are condemned to freedom and therefore responsible for all your actions. Inner peace, outer harmony ;)

"Life is what you make it" is only a half truth. The whole truth is that the choices of others effect you just as much as your own choices. That's why human history is a history of conflict... a history of perpetrators... and a history of victims.

We are only a bunch of bacteria that work logically together. There is no meaning, there is no answer, and technically no questions. We only strive to do what the bacteria needs, the rest (including conscious thought) is just filler.

It's a good theory, no offense, but nobody really gives a shit wether you want to be happy or not, if you want to play this game so called "life" you need to play by rules, and these rules are education, work, retirement, and then coffin. Everything in between is for you to decide, you can have fun, and you can smoke the herb, but if you have no education, no job, then you have no money, no money, no herb, no herb, no fun, and youll end up living in a cardboard box with a guy named Sue. So play the game, but improvise.

after watching what the bleep do we know, and from other information i've been reading, i've come up with this idea:
Your reality is divided into 3 parts, very similar to the brain. It consists of You, which is conscious part, the people you know (which pop in and out of your life) the subconcious part, and the people/things you don't recognize, the unconcious part.
you move throughout the three, unknowningly connected. If you realize that everything you perceive is connected and is a product of what you once THOUGHT, you leave yourself an open plane to be creative and realize the infiinite possibilities.
