So last week my university had a candle light vigil ceremony for the Virginia Tech students.
One girl, who is/was running for student body president decided it would be a brilliant idea to get votes by making up some name and saying it was her cousin who was murdered in the massacre.
Well, there was no student under that name even enrolled in the college or admitted to the hospital.
SO she then claimed that the first girl shot was really her cousin and that she had to use a fake name for her cousin because she is part of the Witness Protection Program.
Hahhaha...well...all of that ended up being a total lie....and she has to leave school now and everything.
She had to write a letter of apology to the newspaper and stuff..oh man it's soooo funny.:hippy: :hippy: :hippy: :hippy: :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

What a douchebag. She'll make a good politician if she can cook up some good lies in the future.

Assuming she is honest about being Bi-Polor and really hadn't taken her meds, it may be a valid excuse. I have family members with the disorder, and know the weird, stupid, dangerous, and insensitive decions they have made when they weren't medicated.
It is also hard for a Bi-Polor person to take there meds if someone isn't looking after it. When they forget or something like that and get to a manic state, it is a great high for them and they feel great. They simply don't want the euphoric (sp) feeling to end.
I think she should be removed from the university and the media was just in what they did. I do however feel some sympathy for her if the article was true.

i cant believe she would blame
her manic depression for fabricating
a story like that to get votes
for student body president.

Is that anything like masochism?
And to top it all off! I bet it was her best friend who told on her.

I'm really goddamned stoned and I don't know if this will make any sense at all, so please bear with me..or something.
Anyway, I feel bad that she is bi-polar, and I understand that that could have been why she did that.
I feel really bad for the girl, because yeah we all do stupid shit and make mistakes sometimes.....and bi-polar can alter your ability to make good decisisions and think of consequences...etc.
That doesn't mean I don't find it funny and sad at the same time!
....Still though, me and kids in leadership never really got along that well.
I hear she does smoke pot though!

I don't sympathize with her.
I'm severely bi-polar, as some of you may know (but very med'd up) and
I was diagnosed as clinically depressed
at 12.
I do not pity her, she was just trying to get votes and got caught.
The quickest, easiest thing to do
is to blame the disease.
I read in the comments of the article that she told the reporter that she was BP, which leads me to believe she had an excuse all set up.
I have done crazy, outrageous things when not on my meds.
I know how it feels.
But I do NOT buy that shit for one second!
People who are BP do not advertise it like that, especially not in a public apology.
She's pathetic and yeah, I find it pretty fuckin' funny ;)

Sounds like a chick movie...like mean girls or something. I know it's real. She was trying to look good, which we all do in one form or another.
Dose the word "chick" offend. I am not sure.

You must be referring to a small fuzzy bird with no pin-feathers.
hee hee
But yeah, that chick is a pathetic mess.
I would be so embarassed to be her parents.
I wonder how old is too old for a good spankin'?

I agree with you, it's still pretty funny. I also agree with the university's choice and support that, the girls future should be at jepordy over what she did. She deserves the punishment she recieved, but I can kind of understand, if it really was the disorder, why she did it.
