hi guys, ive noticed that when the time comes to move plants outside, some people leave them in pots and plant the pot into the ground? rather than planting straight into the soil? is there any reason for this that ive missed out on?

cheers

it all depends on the gower, the ground, security. I grow in grow bags outside because about a foot below my soil is very hard limestone every where. if i didnt have that i would grow in the ground. But also its easier for me to move the plants around to either get more sun or if i have to hide them. If you can plant them straight in the ground i think that would be the best way.:twocents:

thanx.

if the pot was planted into the ground, wudn't this affect the roots of the plant as they wudn't have much room to spread? i used growbags previous which worked fine, jus gathering info.

basically the more room for roots, the biggger the plant, and if it gets too hot outside having the plant in the ground will keep the roots nice and cool, preventing less stress.

Ooh, keeko, I'm also planning to grow in bags.
What size bags do you use(pics?)?
What strain(s) do you grow?
I'm planning on growing Hindu Kush, a short, bushy indica.

right now im in 3 gallon bags but in a little bit they will get moved to 7 gallon. ( i wanted 10 gallon but they hydro store was out). I basically want the biggest bag possible. I have a couple K2 clones vegging right now and have seeds vegging of Nevill haze, skunk special, and some bagseed.

Have tried both, and get much better results directly in the ground here in the SE. Also, directly in the ground requires much less tending. That is, providing the spot is thoroughly amended prior to planting.
