ok...please forgive my ignorance....but i was dickin around on the web lookin at seeds and such.....i came across Lowryder....says it takes about 8 weeks to finish from seed to bud....my question is this.....What exactley is auto-flowering?...do you just leave the lights on 24/7?....Does it not need a dark cycle?...Are there any other auto-flowering strains?

.....anyone in the USA ever buy seeds of the web?....yeah frequently. I usually use seedboutique or seedbay. Those are good and cheap. And you can search 'autoflower' on seedbay and find lowryder hybrids.
But I have also been happy with cannaseur. Their genetics are some of the best you can find anywhere.... mmmm SubCool....

Auto flowering I thought ment it goes right into flowering start from 12/12 for 2 months and no need for a 24/7 which would cost more money and with the very same results, and with lowryder you can even just put them next to a sunny place by the window and grow for free!! Thats what I heard!

And if your looking for Auto Flowering strains Dutchbreed.com has some under the special Seeds section but he's always out of stock! Infact there was going to be more lowryder's in stock on april 24 sure enough I look today and it says out of stock more on may 25.....wtf?

autoflower means that they can and will flower normally on 24on/0off light cycle as soon as the plant reaches sexual maturity.
I believe that 18/6 is the preferred cycle for lowryders but as I personally think autoflower strains are a waste of time except in certain very specific circumstances, I don't grow them.
Growing in a sunny window is a near impossibility for any strain.

stinky why is it tainted. I am dieing here, deciding on a new strain and seed to bud in 8 weeks sounds...tasty I need a high yield easily manageable strain for my next super documented bucket log. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Sorry, I just won't give advice on lowryder-type plants.
Same as you'll virtually never see me in the hydro section... I'm just not experienced with it.
I wouldn't consider the original Lowryder to be a high-yield strain, and anyway, you get what you veg for, lol... a strain with virtually no veg time is not going to give you the results of a strain that lets you play with it for a month, training and whatever to fit your grow space and lighting style.
IMHO for whatever it's worth, I think that month of veg time is a fabulous thing to have indoors and gives the grower most control. That's why I have completely ignored the autoflower strains.

well i agree with stinky a bit, autoflowrirng strains dont feel like cannabis plants :p lol

but all my friends who have never grown before and such, and i know they just dont have what it takes to grow, but they still want to play around and experiment and smoke some homegrown ganja, all of them i have told to go for lowryder (mainly lowryder2) cos its a no problem plant.

also i am growing outside os that means i have to wait for 4/5/6 etc. motnhs of veg which means i get so annoyed with waiting, which is why i am growing a few lowryders myself besides my REAL crop.


but yeah if i wasnt growing a real cannabis plant at the same time, i would not feel satisfied with just some lowryders...

all the autoflowering strains are a low yield they say 10 to 20 grams per plant. they stay very small about 1 ft in hight.

eh yes.. auto flowering plants dont get much on grams per plant.. Buttt theirs something very special about them... You can fit one in a 6inch pot an yeild 10-15gs off it.. ughhh now count how many of them u can fit.. ahahahahaa.. it could be the ultimate SOG plant if ud want to fuck with it

yes me. I have orded lowryder seeds off the wed to the usa. over X-mass 2006. and I got then in a great 2 weeks time frame.
but since I allready have some plants growing now. I am going to wate to grow them untill the middle or the end summer. and probly try and do some breeding. and probly only grow like 2-3 at a time.

I got 10 seeds in 1 pack. and I got them 1 day after X-mass.
I was like holy shit.that was some very fast and great service.

and I used my C-card and my card statement said light compeny or something like that. As the name of the place I bought it from.

the statment did not say a damm thang about seeds or grow anything.

what is a great thing.

Hey how about some open-mindedness in the sub-culture. A different strain of Marijuana Cannabis and up in a snit we go! It looks real to me with good buds forming in one month of 18/6, 400w HPS.

I don't see any snit.
It's just not for everyone. I find autoflowering to be a very limiting trait. I like to keep good mothers to clone from; that's not a viable option with an auto strain- every time you want a new plant, it's back to seeds you go.
