View Full Version : My Grandma is in the critical care unit...and I'm bummed

So I come home from staying over John's and the night before i had a dream that I came home and my mom said that Grandma died....but anyway, I walk in and my mom is all sad and I ask whats wrong and she tells me that my grandma's pace maker died and she's in the critical care unit at the hospital....im bummed out guys...I just needed to share...

I just said a prayer for Grandma... they do amazing things with the heart these days so just keep on the bright side,,,everything will be ok...

She will always be alive in your memory babe, I know how it goes when shit like that goes down. Think about her every chance you get.

Sorry about your grams, hope she gets better. My own gramma has a pacemaker & cancer, I know where you are coming from. Hope things get better.

I'm sorry. I lost my grandma a few months ago. it really sucks. You you try to visit her in the hospital.

Real sorry about your grandma, Rebgirl! Are they going to get her stabilized and then replace her pacemaker? Hope they can do that!

sorry to hear about your grandma. My grandfather just passed a few weeks ago so i know the deal, it really does suck. I hope the best for your grandma but godforbid anything should happen just remember, death is as much a miracle as life is.

thanks guys, you guys rock. They moved her to a regular room and she's scheduled to get the new pace maker tommorow. I suppose stuff like this really makes you appreciate people even more.

Glad to hear she's been upgraded to a regular room and is stable enough to get a new pacemaker. That's great news, hun! Make sure they look into whether her old pacemaker was one of those made by Guidant that got recalled. If so, she's entitled to some compensation for the resulting problems and the replacement. Her cardio-electrician doc ought to know the details about that.

yeah so it seems. I love her too, she's such a little old lady. And she has a lady bug problem in her house and last time I was there i bought her daisies and she made me suck up the lady bugs with the vaccuum haha

yeah I called her today at the hospital and she's fine, we played the fun game "guess who died" where i have to try to remember who people are from the 1960's that were her friends who died....fun! haha
