Do you still cough when you smoke?

Do you? i've been smoking for about 2 months now, after every hit i take, i still cough, not almost-dying-choke like the first times, but i still tend to cough.

what i've found is that whenever i smoke something new i choke. if it's from the same bag i've been smoking out of for the past few months and it wasn't a monster hit, not so much. but if it's a new bag that i just picked up or it's a huge hit, i cough like a mother fucker.

Every since 4/20 when I smoked waterfalls like a mad man I haven't been coughing from blunts or big pipe hits like I used to. I almost don't cough at all until I smoke the waterfall again lol.

been smoking like 9 years now.. and i still cough on big hits.... or the first hit after a few weeks of having nothing....
you're never gonna lose that cough completely... i mean you'll get to where you can smoke a joint or blunt or pipe without a problem.... but there will always be that time when you do cough....

doesn't matter how much or how long you've been smoking... that cough isn't going away...

heh orangeman don't you find that after smoking waterfalls for a while nothing else will get you bent? Last summer when I was living in the islands we had a g-bong outside our door.

Nothin better then cashin a huge bowl of jamaican skunk with a ball of homemade hash infront of the caribean sunset. In one mind bending, drool inducing hit nonetheless.


oh I still cough off of bongs and hot vaporizers. hell i still cough off of everything, but I don't take gigantic hits like I did when I first started blazing.

me and my friends used to always have competitions on who could take the biggest bong hits,, i got to the point were with no air in my lungs i could completely fill my lungs with smoke till i run outta breath with no coughing(somtimes),, i dont really cough anymore, but once in a while i will for one reason or another.

It just depends on how much you take as you smoke more you get better and better at taking larger amounts without coughing but if you just continue to push the envelope you will cough. Personally I take about as big a hit as I know I can without coughing. Although sometimes you just gotta take a hit bigger than you can handle.

I've been smoking for over two years, I think... and I still cough somethimes.

It really just depends, if it is shitty weed, I will sometimes cough. If I'm sick I will certainly cough.

shiiiiiiiiit..... i always hit bigger then i can handle... as long as youc an hold it in about 3 seconds you're fine.... that whole 15 second shit, is bullshit... takes 3 seconds to absorb nearly all the thc in hte smoke....

i always cough myself out... if i'm not coughing, i'm not hiting hard enough...

of course there are exceptions.... skinny joints (but to me skinny is cigarette sized or anything less) skiinny sweets... cheifin' on them is just wasting shit.... most of the smoke in your lungs is from the paper anyways (don't believe me? flatten out a peice of bud the thickness of a cigar paper... then burn both teh bud and the paper side by side without any help.... the bud smokes, but the paper POURS off smoke... it almost extinguishes itsself purely from the smoke concentration [fire needs oxygen to burn, more smoke = less oxygen])

bongs, pipes, fat joints/sweets... i'm cheifing it til i cough and pass...

do your own experiement.. roll two exact 1 gram sweets (or .5 gram joints) smoek by yourself... smoke one, by cheifing (i.e. more then you can 'handle' end up coughing alot) and one by what you can handle (no coughing.. maybe coughing URGES but no actual coughing) tell me which you get more stoned off of <.< i 100% garuntee it's the first....

No but seriously, I never cough. I've learned to hold it in. Thats the thing, I don't think it ever really hurts less and you'll always get that urge to cough, BUT you can learn to take hits better, balancing how hard/long you inhale and just straight up fighting off that coughing fit.

I'd been smoking for about a year on and off. My lungs hold an insane amount of smoke, and enough for the dude that I smoked with (who had been smoking for about 7 years now) decided to look at me when I exhaled from a blunt(which is the only thing I cough from for the first two hits) and he looks at me straight in the eyes and says damn dude that's alot of fucking smoke. And it's held for a good 10-15 seconds easy cakes. BUT, first 2 hits from a blunt ALWAYS make me cough a little. Have a cold drink with you, gets rid of it fast.

I've had pneumonia twice in my life. Both times when I was out, and not ABLE to cough big! Those coughs clear your lungs of all kinds of crap!! Now I worry when I dont cough enough, that I'll get pneumonia again!! Coughing is your friend! Embrace it! Love it! GET THAT SHIT OUT!!!:lovestruck:

The faster you inhale, the less you'll cough. I had blood clots in my lungs, which weakened them significantly. So, basically, it's harder for me to inhale very quickly. So yes, I cough on big hits sometimes. But I notice that if I do it as fast as I can, I either barely cough or I don't cough at all.

Depends .. I've been smoking about 7 years now and I still cough from time to time .. Even on little hits too .. And sometimes I dont cough for weeks ..

Anyway - good weed should have a smooth smoke - it shouldnt be irritating you and making you cough all the time - especially for smoking it for a while.

Indeed, your right. The coughing can be a good thing. Also it can be good for clearing out copious amounts of mucus from your lungs. I know this is horrible, but once when i was having a laughing/coughing fit i coughed up a mouth full of phlem - yeah it's disgusting but at least it aint in my lungs. Weed helps with everything.

I don't cough that often. Not as much as I used to at least. My friends always tell me 'dude I never here you cough!' But Slips right you always cough that once and a while.

That's not true. I'm a long time weed smoker, and used to smoke 40 odd cigs a day. Not much made me cough - if anything.

Also, a think weed should have a smooth almost creamy like smoke if you know what i mean - it shouldnt irritate your throat to make you cough.
