my sprouts have just popped dirt. through a change of events, i will have to be moving to another state soon.

i know this is a hated question, but i would like to know when is the soonest i can put them on 12/12? i realize that of course i'll get far less yield, but i simply have to move. so, my little buddies are up and running, they sprouted a few days ago. i have them on 3x26w cfl's right now, but i am getting a 250w hps and i'm going to put that in ASAP. right now i have them on 24/7. should i keep them on 24/7 or move them to 18/6? basically, i just need the best growth possible as fast as possible. i think with the cfl's and the hps (have 6 plants, a couple haven't popped, but expecting a couple females) they can get some growth going, but i am just going to have to flower them much sooner than i like

another possibility: i will be driving half way across the country. is it possible to keep my babies alive through that? i HIGHLY doubt i'll do this though, as crossing state lines with cannabis plants, could royally fuck me over. in fact, forget it, i'm not going to risk that ;)

any advice is appreciated

As a matter of fact you CAN travel with plants but you are smart not to risk it.
It was recently pointed out to me that one way to go about doing things was to just go 12/12 the entire grow... granted, the plant will not show sex until it is ready either way. This method was suggested because I have a bunch of F2 seeds and want to find a good mom without taking up a lot of space... it is not meant to produce high yields of buds, just enough to tell which plant is worth hanging on to. You could always do that... But yeah it totally sucks feeling like you are pushed for time. How long do you have?
I personally... knowing me... I'm not that bright sometimes... would be concentrating on taking very good care of the plants that are going now, getting a bunch of healthy clones rooted, taking those to my new place, and setting up shop the moment I walked in the door. But that's just me. It sounds like even if you put them on 12/12 now you will still n ot have time to finish?

well i put a couple of seedlings straight into 12/12 light schedule, took 2 weeks to show sex but had grown 7 sets of true leaves in that time with nice tight nodes, shame they turned out to be male

thanks, folks; this is great info; well, it's a bit up to me how long i have, but there are other factors involved.

i'll tell my story if you please :) couple years ago i started coming down with what i thought was the flu, but it didn't go away; headaches, nausea, fever, etc. i saw a number of docs, but no answers, i then got a tip from a friend to look into lyme disease, and got an independant test done by a company called igenex in CA. it came back possitive for b.bugdorfia, the main bacteria culprit in lyme. i saw a specialized doc and got on heavy antibiotics. but, just about then, when i was in the worst pain, my wife decided she was better off without me and left. so, because i couldn't care for myself, i moved to california back with my mother. after a few months i felt better; i even took a wonderful long roadtrip from socal to canada, through the pac-NW, sleeping in the back of my truck. anyway, i went off the antibiotics and was feeling pretty good. i came back to colorado to go to school, and this semester i've been taking classes. however, the lyme has come back with a vengence, and it's clear that i'm going to go back on antibiotics, and probably for a while. it's difficult for my folks to help me out here, and then there's paying for rent, and yeah, you get it, looks like going back to so-cal is the best move. on the upside, i am blessed to have some wonderful supportive parents, which is good, because they really are all i've got left.

so, anyway, that's the story. i'm hopeful that i'll be able to grow at my mother's; she has mentioned before that she would buy weed for me if it would help my pain (read: love me mum), though because of rule1 i haven't mentioned a thing about cultivation. though i do think it's likely that we will get a little cab grow of our own going. and much more importantly, i'm going to actively pursue a medical MJ scrip for my chronic lyme

so.................. when, or even if, i move back there is mostly a matter of choice. on the one hand i'd like to stay and see if i'm well enough to take classes next fall, on the other, i'm in quite a bit of pain and it's difficult to take care of myself, plus paying rent on top of medical costs is going to be a real problem

so canna.com, this is my life :) basically, i'm not sure when i'll move, or even if, but it is HIGHLY likely that i will move, and soon. i saved 4 NL seeds, so i will have some when i get back there

also, i have become more aware that growing in my current APPT is a bit more dangerous than i like, i read my lease, and two things stood out: we can come in your appt for any reason just about, including "preventitive maintenance", and: you cannot change locks on interior doors without PERMISSION from management (i've locked the bedroom where the grow is), though i thought that i was legally entitled to that. on the upside the maint. staff are stoners and everyone around here is :) but still, sketchy without a med scrip.

so.........that's the news ;) keep on truckin

question: would it be better just to put them on 12/12? wouldn't they grow faster on 24/7 or 18/6? this first grow is clearly turning out to be a practice run, and i've got 4 nice viable seeds left for later.

what i'm thinking is just to keep them on 24/7 for a week or so, then transplant them into 1gal pots, and put them on 12/12 and see how it goes. everything is up in the air right now, but i don't feel like calling the game yet ;)

i've got no connections here, and i could really use some help with my depression, nausea, pain, glaucoma, and sleeping problems (someone's gotta give me a med-MJ scrip, eh? :) )

Man that sad... If you come to atlanta I'll give you some medical MJ...
