Omg, don't you hate being told this by parents, or even to you older people when your parents lived with you? It makes you feel like shit. Today I got my report card back, and it was really bad since I didn't do any homework, and of course my dad pulled this line.

Do your homework. F'real.
But yeah that line is a real killer.
The best part is when you are older and get to hand it out yourself... sheesh... I had to bitch-slap myself the first time I told someone that.

Hah, yeah. I can't wait till that time comes. I started being serious about school. I've been told by basically all of my teachers that I am one of their brightest students, I'm just REALLY REALLY REALLY lazy.

Yeah, I know I can do better too. Its just parents use that line ALL the time. When I got busted with weed, grades, and a whole bunch of other shit. Its kinda like when a girl breaks up with you for the reason "I just want to be friends"

My dad would of beat my ass, not lightly either. I hated that shit...happens to a lot of kids even these days. Or make you stand out in front of your school with a stupid ass sign. Don't take advantage of your situation, lots have it much worse.

Yeah they do. But now my parents are coming into school every week talking to my teachers and guidance councellors, just because I slipped one semester.

Hahah, nice. But seriously, work hard in school (when you can), and it'll pay off (not only in money). College will be a blast if you can do that, and even if you can't, school becomes wayyy easier when you TRY to enjoy what you're learning and realize that you are being taught how to learn. It's an important skil. BUUTTT, school often sucks, so stick it out. But it does feel really good to get good grades.

man that line is worse than someone yelling at you. At least you're parents seem to really care how you do in school. They're right though. Get your shit together and next semester they'll be telling you how proud they are of you.

Thefatkid,
Have you ever considered that your parents may in fact not be mad at all, just disappointed. I'd be disappointed as well if my kid were lazy, like honestly your parents come home to find you doing nothing everyday, and you get bad grades and smoke pot. I'm disappointed that you've seemed to be bright in some threads and a burnout in others. tisk tisk :)

They caught me smoking when I was like 12, and my dad didn't tell my mom so its all good. Its weird lol, I can smoke pot, be burnt out, get good grades, get bad grades, be smart outside of school, have no common sense sometimes, but still manage to stay sane.
