How much space do you have in your flowering room. You can do 2 or 3 plants in about 4 sq feet very nicely with a 250w. HPS is better than MH for flowering...unless I read wrong an you can use both...?

Edit: Oh, and you might want to set up a small CFL box for your sexing. Have you thought of taking cuttings...rooting the cuttings, then sexing those cuttings/clones in a small CFL box so you then will be able to take more cuttings of your guaranteed females before you flower them so you can have a future crop of guaranteed females???

Be cool.

Ok so does that mean you have a 250MH and a 250 HPS bulb totalling 500 watts? That would be a very nice dual spectrum light to grow 3-5 plants in a relatively small space...did you ever say what your space would be?

As far as cloning goes, it's really easy and would be a good thing to read up on if you are planning on more than one grow. By cloning, you find out what sex a plant is before you flower the main plant. Therefore, you can make a mother plant and guarantee that your future plants will always be female, removing future need for sexing plants and using seeds.

There is a lot of info out there on cloning...some in my log JOURNAL OF A MADMAN, but here is a short version:

1. Take your plant that is a month or 6 weeks old and cleanly slice off a branch. This branch should have about 3 other small branches coming off of it, each with a leaf. Don't just cut off one leaf.

2. Put this cutting directly into clean water and then dip it into your ROOTING COMPOUND/HORMONE (easily found in stores).

3. Put this cutting into your medium...I'm assuming you will be using rockwool if you are doing hydro. Put the cutting into a small rockwool cube.

4. Keep it under a humidity dome, plastic bag or cut off 2L bottle to maintain humidity and keep it humid and warm (85*F) for 1-2 weeks.

VOILA, you will see little roots coming out. Throw those clones into some hydroto rocks and into a small CFL cab/box and put them on 12/12. In 2 more weeks, you will see which are male and which are female.

Then you can get rid of all the test clones and the big plants that are males and pick the best females to fully flower. For added security, you can cut more than one clone when you cut the first time...test flower one, and keep the other one to keep vegging after you throw your prize females into bud cycle. MAKE SURE YOU LABEL WHICH CLONES CAME FROM WHICH PLANTS!

This, IMO is the best way to make sure you know what you are growing. If you look in the JOURNAL, it is done exactly this way, except the test clones were left to fully flower too because the space was available.

Anyway...that's the short version... ;) And, hey, that's just what "I" would do... I need another  now.

I love you, too, bro...in a purely heterosexual way.

Let us know how things go. Hope to see a grow log from you also. :)

One love...rastafarI.
