The green pins turn it on and the red turn it off. It should have a little clock or something to set the relative time with. Once its set, then put the pins in when you want it to turn on and off. ie green one on 12 and red one on 12 for 12/12 bloom cycle, or put the red pin 6 hours later for 18/6

Yes it does a have a current time set on the front.....for 12/12 I was going to set it for on at 6am and off at 6pm then start back on at 6am and repeat......So i just need 2 pins then right 1 green and 1 red?

Hi set large wheel to current time am pm it should be on dial put pins in where you want light to come on or shut off if you are going 12 /12 you will only need 2 pins if you are not shure, plug into any lamp and set for a short period to test, did this timer not come with directions.
Good Luck

You are correct - you need only one red pin and one green pin.
