From what I read, it seemed he isolated himself from everyone. He had a real problem that no one realized, or tried to get him help. The other thing is he didn't want to help himself, he made no attempts to speak to anyone, and always wore those glasses. He even wrote his name as a ? mark and got mocked for it. If I saw him moping like that, I'd give him a hand and at least try to reach out to him.
Still I don't care how fucked up your life is, you don't have a right to take someone elses.

Did you see the video of his roommates? They seem like typical college guys who tried to reach out to him and include him in their activities, and he rejected them. His writing prof tried to reach out by taking the time to tutor him privately and counsel him when he was inappropriate in class, and he seems to have resisted that.
People realized. People tried to help. Sometimes a person just has something that is broken inside of him, and which can never be fixed.

The roomate video was on the CNN website. I tried to get a link but the video comes up as a popup. It's pretty long- 12 or 13 minutes, but his roomates seem OK, not arrogant or anything. Probably had a lot more patience living with a freak than I would have.

yes it's the rich kids' fault that he refused to get help and pushed away people who tried to make him feel like he was wanted.
i too feel bad for the kid but his mental health (or lack of) gives him no right to go on a murderous rampage and kill lots of innocent people.

maybe all the help people thought they wanted to give him, was exactly the problem, people like to help others yes, but it is very much how you approach the one in need that determines how he will react. If some college kid came up to me trying to reach out, i dont think i would listen either because mainly i dont think those kids had the right idea of what his problems actually are. Aswell as the professor, his main goal was to help this kid, but for what and why? and how did he try and help, tutoring him will do nothing, honestly most the time all u need is some one to sit down and just listen to what you have to say, which i think people were either like, yo kid u need to shape up and get your life on track, wich isnt what you say to someone when there struggling with issues.
