i have a feeling this thread will get many angry but hear me out. its just a date on the calendar. i admit when i was somewhat yonger it used to be a big deal but now i dont think much of it. iam a daily smoker and i find lately i smoke no more, no less on 4/20 than any other day. if you want a day to celebrate weed hit up hemp fest which is always a good time. sorry if i offended anyone, but i just wanted to see if theres anyone that agrees.

4-20 is whatever you want to be. Theres people do absolutly nothing but smoke all day long. And like me I go about my normal day but am sure to be blazed the whole time. To some people its the closest thing to a religous holliday they got. So its whatever you make of it. If your not totally down with 4-20 Im still down with you. No worries.

To be honest, I think everyday should be celebrated like a holiday.

I have completely quit celebrating every holiday except my daughters and wifes birthday. No christmas, no easter, no thanksgiving....no nothing. Cause I am not going to celebrate just cause everybody else does. I give gifts when I want. All holidays are stupid really.

My favorites are the people that have no religion and do not believe in God and they celebrate chistmas and easter. WTF! I just cant be a sheep to the masses.

I don't believe in a Christian god, I haven't since I was 9, but I still celebrate Christmas. And this year I celebrated Easter.
Why?
Not because I thought "you know, geez, i want to be like everybody else".
Because it's fun to go all out and celebrate something.
Why shouldn't I?
Like you said, it's just another day, so why can't a pick an occasional day to act like a kid (dying eater eggs for the first time was very enjoyable).
Or enjoy the pretty lights on the tree.

Thats why you dont over do it. If you dnt over do it the first time then you wouldnt be in this state of mind. This day is supposed to be special, but you've made it like any other day because you've done it so much everyday already.
I think doing it all day and everyday defeats the whole purpose of 420.
For me i've eally cut down on my smoking because its was getting in my way. Im glad i did it because now i can fully appreciate and celebrate 420.

I don't know. I'm a daily smoker, I have been for about 4 years, that doesn't mean I don't want to party a little harder then normal with my best of friends. Plus, some people don't smoke that much and do for special occasions; this is one of them. Maybe you've grown out of it, which is a little sad. Why grow out of celerbrating (anything)? That seems like a huge bummer.

I think all the kids at the school I was subbing for were like 'OMG 420 IS TOMORROW!'

So I slyly got a group together of NON-smokers, and presented them with research on cannabis's healthy properties- prevents atheriosclerosis, pain relief, glaucoma relief, its effects on cancerous glioma cells, ect.

I made conversions of 6 out of 8 people. And even the tokers around listening to me at the hallowed lunch table listened in awe, and I heard cries of "Oh! How wonderful the herb be! I never knew such healthful anointments and properties hath existed in thine herb! Rejoice, fair people of _____ High School, for the herb shall be the bane of all human ails from this day nigh! Go forth, and rid your medicine dispensaries of all ointments, unguents and sundries, and replace them with thine holy Herb!"

Or something like that. But it felt good to educate these young folk, and they do not doubt me, as I am well respected by tokers and non-tokers alike.
