So I was 9 days late on my period, called the doc she said that my body probably got use to the meds and to double it this month. So I wasnt expecting a period but I had a few tampons stashed away for rainy days. Well all of a sudden I started the worse period I have ever had. The regular tampons were not working I was going through them every 30 mins, and it takes about 30 mins to get to town from my house. So I ask my husband if he would go get me a box of super Playtex tampons (I hate tampax). He had the biggest hissy fit in the world. He basiclly refused to do it for me. There was no way I was going to make it to the store without having a major blowout before I got the tampons. I wanted to be at the house so I could at least monitor the situation in a safe place. I dont understand why it is so hard for alot of guys to go to the damn store and get a box of tampons. What the hell???, my husband was like its embarassing. Why??? What are you worried that ppl are going to think your into some freaky shit and are using tampons for butt plugs or something. What is the deal. Its like toilet paper gotta have it.

In the end he did go and get them but only after my dad came up to visit and he got him to go to the store with him. Then on there way back they got rear ended, he should have left when I asked him too and I wouldnt have had to stuff my panties with paper towels, and he wouldnt have gotten rear ended.

I had a friend who had a phobia of them, you could chase him around the room with a tampon out of the wrapper but brand new, If you threw a packaged one at him he freaked.. Watching kids buy condoms is one of the most hilarious things you can come across in a store. First they'll put their bottle of water or soda on the counter, then a snickers, then a pack of gum, and last, as if they're just going to sneak it in, a pack of condoms...

I figure it would be hilarious sometime to go to the store, step up to the counter and lay down gum, then condoms, then KY, then a can of pineapple, and lastly, a honeydew melon. And (and this is key) maintain solid eye contact the whole time.

I could have written the precise brand, the box color, the exact wording, and even the IPC code on a piece of paper. And he'd still somehow have ended up buying and returning with the wrong item.

I hate Tampax brand, too. Playtex is the only way to go. . . . Stock up a couple months' supply at WalMart so you'll be covered next time. Hope the heavy phase passes quickly!

Yeah, this is what my boy does. Whenever we have to get lube, he won't touch it and makes me grab it (even if the one we like is up on the top shelf and I have to jump to reach it) and I have to carry it around and blah blah blah. It's so stupid!!

They also can be used to dry off the car after a good washing.

haa one time at kmart ten years ago, I had some lube and the theft sticker wasn't deactivated when it went through the register...well of course the alarms went off all crazy like when I tried walking out the door. So everyone got to see my inspected items, including the KY. I turned around after hearing a 'hmpf' and who is standing there, watching with high intrest? My old HS principal....I made it a point to give him EYE contact and the best smile I could muster (probably looked more like I'm getting fucked rather than I'm confident and not at all embarrassed)when I was WALKING out (not handcuffed and escorted....lol)... still mortifying all the same.

Many of these men have been shelted and have had a soft life.

I worked for a drug store in my early teens, doing everything from bicycle deliveries to stocking the shelves. Kotex and tampons were big sellers, naturally, and I had to open the cartons and restock the sleves with them all the time. I got used to it - and a lot more. I had worse jobs as well.

Are there any guys on this board who actually worked when they were young, or did mommy, daddy, grandparents, etc., just give them everything they wanted? My wife and I get the Sunday NY Times delivered every week, and the "paper boy" is about 65 years old. When I was a kid we had paper routes. You never see kids shoveling snow, mowing lawns, or doing much of anything any more. They're mostly lazy, fat slobs that eat McDonalds and don't even play outside anymore. It's no wonder the girls are complaining about the teenage boys they know. Not to say that they're much better.....

I had a paper route, mowed lawns, cleaned out leaf gutters, bagged groceries, and as a teen was a gopher and file clerk first for a local pathologist and later for the nasty office manager in my dad's office. During summers in college and med school, I worked for a moving company and still have the bulging disks to prove it. My folks could have handed me everything, I suppose, but they chose not to. Birdie's not a guy, but she worked even harder as a kid and through college and still works like a Trojan now that she's back in school. We have worked hard to instill a work ethic in our son and, fortunately, seem to have been successful. Some of our son's more pampered college chums have a laziness ethic/sense of entitlement that's downright sickening. I know I'm an old fogey compared to the kids you were probably asking this question of.

Probably from all those long, mental munchie lists over the years... memory retention has improved with marijuana use!

Hell man, when my ex had surgery to remove the cyst's from her kidneys, the pain medicine had her completely useless.. I disagree with both your posts. This thread is not generalizing men. The title is why do so many men have this problem. Not why do all men have this problem. There are a lot of men who have a problem with being seen buying tampons.

I do buy porn. There is a local shop down the road. Ive bought movies books toys just about everything. I have nothing to be embarrassed about. Everyone in that store is in there for the same reason.

Guess I'm lucky in that department. I take my pills 28 days straight for 11 months and only have one period a year. I'm usually ready for it. I did have a bf a couple years ago who got these awful nose bleeds, and used tampons to stop the bleeding. That was a hoot...the string hanging our of his nose.

I've bought tampons and other things for my gf's all my adult life until my last one. I told her I wouldn't get anything as long as she gave me no warning as to when she would quit takin her bi-polar meds. She wouldn't stay on them so I would just hide for seveal days till she started again. Sometimes I wonder how I survived. But the next gf will get the same treatment. If she needs it I will get it.

Allow me to reassert myself. How long have you been a member of this website? How many times have you posted here? How aware are you, of the social interactions that take place on here?

Let me shine some light on a couple of things:

This thread is listed in the "Women's Issues" sub-forum. Now just in case the logic of this fact escapes you, I shall assert that it is for women. Men are discouraged from posting in here, because the women enjoy having their own place free from the judging and scolding remarks of men who feel the need to stamp their ignorance upon everything they read. The more open-minded and less judgemental men are tolerated in our posts in the womens forum, provided we dont post anything offensive. I have a feeling there are some people who found your posts offensive. Why? Because you came into the (once again) WOMEN'S FORUM, into a topic a female member created out of a frustration she is experiencing in her personal life, and told her to STOP WHINING. Then proceeded to rant and complain about the fact that you thought she was whining. Followed by an attempt at a tongue-in-cheek comment about something you found unsatisfying in your own girlfriend.

Is any of this impacting you at all? No? It escapes you completely? Hmm.. I was afraid of that... On to the second part then..

Your post proved nothing, and was a poor attempt at justification. If your part of Europe is so liberal, then why is it so hard for you to buy a hygiene product? Are you afraid? Does it hurt your feelings? Does it make you feel "icky?" What other explanation can you give for the fact that you are unable and unwilling to purchase cotton, packaged in plastic, boxed in cardboard? Yes, I will say it again. Any man that has a problem buying tampons suffers from either: immasculinity, immaturity, or ignorance. And usually its an unhealthy mix of all three. Take your pick. See to me every guy getting tampons should be happy as hell no proud of the fact. Not only does it show one's maturity in a time of need it shows the world my GF's not pregnant. My dad hates getting pads or tampons for my mom or my sister. I think he never even really got the picture as far as their existence until he was already a grown man. But likewise if he were to ask my mom to get a new oil filter for the car she would think WTF am I doing here at AutoZone??? and she would probably not get them or else get the wrong one and then yell and scream about how it's his thing to do that and he should have gotten the filter. In other words, there was a certain time when the two genders NEVER EVER crossed into or even knew ANYTHING about the world of the other gender, and I think it only shows that his parents have kept those traditions more strongly when they raised him, therefore he's embarrassed. Almost like how I was watching some black comedian talking about how white people always just use the bar of soap directly on the skin while bathing, and it was so disgusting that everyone has the same bar of soap in their asscrack. Well, to me it's not a big deal because A: It's SOAP. How can you get it dirty? B: You rinse it in fresh water when you're done, so it's as clean as anything else that's been washed in soap and water. But to that comedian it was disgusting. Does that mean he's insecure about his butt cleanliness? I really doubt it.

when i was only going out with joanne a few months she asked me to go to the shop to get her some,,i did not hesitate,,she needed them,and i,m her guy,,,why the hell would i not do it for the one i love..several years ago when on holidays on portugal,,jo devoleped thrush,and i went to the chemist to get some cream for her,,now not being able to speak the language,i drew diagrams,pointed,at womens products and eventually they understood,what i needed,and gave it to me,,still scratching there heads as to why a man needed this cream,i left and got it to my lady asap...
thats just what you do when your partner needs a helping hand...its also called caring..

Try being raised by all women, you'll learn a lot about tampons and believe me I have made plenty of trips for them. Its no big deal just a part of life.
