For all you growers,
I was watching the discovery channel ealier today and on the show Mythbusters they were trying to see if talking nicely to plants or playing music helped them grow (of course the first thing I thought of was growing pot and the influence it might have on the final product). Apparently, it doesn't matter if you talk nice to them or verbally abuse them, however, plants that were near music grew better than all the others. What suprised me even more, they used heavy metal and classical. Apparently, the batch with the heavy metal grew the best.
I don't know if anyone has tried this, but I'd be interested to see the results with mary j.
I'll have to keep this in mind when/if I ever start growing.

The talking to your plants thing is not a myth... the presence of a person in the grow room increases ambient CO2 pretty significantly... plants dig that shit.

Oh. They were trying to prove if negative or positive conversation had an impact - it did not.

Well, they actually set the experiment up so that plants wouldn't be getting any extra CO2. They wanted to see if the voices themselves were doing anything to the plants, since it's well known that CO2 helps them out.

Awsome pic!!
But I also heard that vibrations from sound and Co2 helped plants to grow....my question is...why don't they plant more trees and foliage in the city?
Cannibal Corpse are amazing!

I watched this too, looks interesting. I think I'll stick to classical music :p. Something about the vibrations and frequencies? Dunno, more knowledge would be tasty.

Sorry. Let me clarify that. It wasn't that static x was the worst ever. I'm just not a fan of heavy metal at all.

i'm not the best at classifying music, tha'ts what mp3.com has them labeled as...
i'd say hard rock personally... he sings too much to actually be metal...

dude, if by any means you can quickly get a hold of music ;) , you should look it up. It's like technical metal riffs with no vocals. Thought you mike likeit!
You must have seen a repeat, i remember watching the same thing last year i think - i was surprised that they like heavy metal - and coz that's what im into i'll try it next grow - cant harm em. And i would have though talking to them would do good - co2 init.
