Terrible band, the worst thing about them is their fans. Skin tight jeans and stupid hair.

The indie scene is awesome, even in Britain. Arab Strap, The Clientele, Mogwai. There's alot of good british/scotish artists, it's just crap like the Arctic Monkeys gets noticed.

If you consider the Artic Monkeys indie, you clearly don't understand the concept in the first place. 90% of the artists being called, or calling themselves, indie are not.

Oasis are especially not indie. They're also awful.

in order to have the label 'indie' the band needs to independent (hence the name indie) thats all it justifies. if your saying indie sucks your saying that you hate bands that have no corporational filters on their songs. the sound that comes out is soley from the creator's mind, and some is shit and some is fucking awesome.

arctic monkeys arn't bad. a few songs i can't stand, they're more like a beat club band.

there are thousands of indie bands some are more recognized than others. it's like finding a diamond in the rough. that applies for all genre's of music.

so chill out people. respect people's taste in music. or i'll take all the muchies from the world.

Once upon a time. Today, if scalpers are asking for $90 for a ticket to see the arctic monkeys, you are no longer indie. Indie shows should cost no less than $20 bucks. $10-15 prefereably.

if ur indie or not isn't determined by how much the shows cost.

they have costs to cover just like any other show.

Of course any band has to cover their costs.

But cost of tickets has alot to do if you are indie or not. Indie bands tend to keep their ticket prices low, and from many shows I seen, play with much more passion than non-indie bands.

At the last Bright Eyes show I went to scalpers were selling tickets for $100+. The original ticket price was like $23, $100 was just ridiculous. You can't be any more indie than Saddle Creek, they've taken everything Dischord did and expanded the concept to become one of the most influential labels of all time.

Bright Eyes is excellent, I wouldn't mind paying a little more like $40 bucks max, but $100 is ridiculous. You gotta be jesus fucking christ for me to pay that much for essentially 1 band!

I saw them open for A Perfect Circle a few years ago. When they finished, it was dead quiet and the lead singer asked the crowd, "Does ANYBODY out there like us???" He did not get a response.
