Any poker players? (texas holdem)

I play poker but I haven't tried getting baked first then playing, in time I will. Any body who plays have any experiences they would like to share?

Yea it's pretty fun, some of my friends have said they dont play aswell but i find it doesnt make much of a difference to me. I seem to be able to read people better, although sometimes i do call random bets and do weird raises and stuff..

I find i'm more perceptive and can read players better while stoned. Get much more of a feel for it.

hehe well pretty much every time i get stoned its round my friends and we end up playing poker, ird say im better whn not stoned but im better at bliffing when im stoned as my face is expressionless and if it isent they cant take me seriousel coz im laughing my head off hehe

i never seem to win any money. but i dont lose any money either. im always +5 or -5 from where i started. it sucks.

just be careful.....i consider myself a decent poker player sober, i online play online and with friends and i usually come out on top in the long run

but when i first started playing stoned i found out that i tended to play very loosely and make calls i normally wouldnt have made just because i was feeling "lucky" or it was "fun" ....so as a result i started losing for a bit

but after awhile i became more disiplined while stoned and now i really only like to play when im baked, haha....the only difference i find is that i just play more liberally, but not enough to keep me on the losing track....in fact in some ways being a bit less conservative of a player has helped

the one thing to remember is that in the end it all comes down to luck and just have fun with it, but use ur head...bet the money u can afford to lose, and if u end up winning....all the better

you do 100X better....easy to bluff....easy to eat popcorn and take a walk on the beach when the two conservative ass neighbors smell the ganja green while liGHTING the SPLIFF! AH. anyways, smoke before u play :)

Ive being playing 1-5 times a week for the last three years and play almost everyday online and I would consider myself quite a good player.

Rule of thumb: Dont play poker baked or drunk!

haha cool! thanks for all comments. A poker team hehe hmmm that sounds fun but i dont know how that would work if only one person can win. So which site to you guys play from if you play online?? I play at pokerstars.com I really really want to win just the sunday warm up, oh it would be great!

I've played at a few different sites and with friends. To me, getting high before is like when I play basketball high. Half the time I have better concentration, and tear up the comp, but the other half of the time I'm zoned out...and realize I shouldn't play anymore, especially if a bit of loot is on the line.

Also, i believe if you make it obvious you're high to people that are sober, they will assume you will play more loosely. So, i would act loose and play solid agressive and change gears when necessary.

i find that if you play REALLY really high, like to the point where who yr playin with doesnt even kno if they got a good hand, forgets that they won, or forgets to take the pot, thats when you really win lol

I play every friday, and we always get baked when we play. I found out that i make alot sloppier bets while stoned, then while sober, it takes some practice to train yourself what hands to play on when your stoned, its fun to sit there when your ahead, and throw out huge bets till everyone folds when your holding a bunch of low cards that dont add up to anything. They always get so pissed. and its an easy way to get money. What poker games does everyone here play? just the usual texas hold 'um or 5 card draw? what? sorry dont mean to be stealing the thread or anything.


one more thing, i hate dealing when im stoned, because i will fuck up somehow every now and then, just simple stuff like not asking to cut, or dealing the wrong amount of cards. but its a trip.

I like to play socially, small bets and stuff.

See, I'm always real good when I start off, then eventually I lose all my winnings! There's a couple real good poker players in our group.

We switch from Texas, to Omaha, to five-card. It's fun, couldn't do it for the big bucks tho! Not that good!
