Odd texture.

Evening all, I've just got hold of some weed and it's different to what I normally get. The texture is rubbery, it looks dry but doesn't feel crisp at all. It also has a sweet taste too it when rubbed onto the tongue. The smoke doesn't seem to taste any different, but I do put Tobacco in my joints so that could be making it.

Seems it's grit weed. I noticed the weed was sticky/greasy, it was very noticeable when pressing the weed against the baggy between my fingers. It would leave smears of liquid on the bag, not a lot but enough to notice. It would also mist up the bag leaving a greasy look. I tried rubbing some of this weed on my tongue and didn't really notice anything, but then I felt a couple of grains crunch between my front teeth. I then took a small bud and bit it, needless too say it was very grainy and gritty. No where near as gritty as looks in the pictures though, so a heads up really even if it looks clean check it. If only I had taken further inspection before smoking one.

Na, nothing too much thank god just an eight. I spoke to the guy I got it from and he's said he will give my money back for it. He was quite surprised to find out himself that it was grit weed though.

You're right could have been a liquid to weigh it down, and probably was part of the reason. But I read up and other people with this Silica coated weed have given a similar diagnosis to me. It seems they are possibly coating it in a sugary type liquid to help the Silica stick. Before hand they were completely blasting the weed with Silica, now it seems to be a bit more on the sly but still noticeable if you're used to your buds.
