View Full Version : The Doors
Are the best. Nuf said. I really can't listen to much else anymore. The music calls me when I rest my head and it wont stop until I listen to Spanish Caravan just one more time. What do I do? There's so many great bands and I'm obsessed with The Doors. My album diversity ranges from their self-titled album to The Soft Parade, plus the live performances.
Who can't you stop listening to?

the doors are by far one of
my favorites as well, and i dont
say that about many bands/musicians.
Jim Morrison just makes you feel
alive when you listen to him. have
you heard the Jim Morrison an American
Prayer? Its a bunch of his poetry
that he recorded before he died and
then the band put music to it
later, and its great.

Just lately I'm on a Janis Joplin jag. I can listen to her version of St. James Infirmary over and over again, and never get tired of hearing it.
There's no question about it. I love An American Prayer.
In fact, I'm listening to one my favorites off the album right now.
The Ghost Song.

I love visualizing the musicians as they play the song. It's like a concert in my head. I start biting my lip when the music is too good, then I break out into an uncontrollable dance (if it could so be called).
Lately I've been stuck on Achilles Last Stand by Led Zeppelin.
I don't know much about the technical aspects of music, but I know what sounds good. And that's all I need to know.

Oh yeah! Krieger outdid himself on that song. :p
"I have to see you again and again...take me"
How about L.A. Woman? My mojo certainly gets a rise out of it.

Ganj my man...
Everytime I think about the Doors, once in a blue moon, you come to mind....
It's not always a blue moon, too. Sometimes it's a red moon. You're there too.
As for what band I can't hit STOP to right now: Umphrey's McGee. They are just insane. ~

Ugh, they sold out when I tried to buy tickets the other day. I'm so pissed.

Once in a blue moon? I think about you all the time, as you've played a vital role in my "rehabilitation." All it took was that one response for me to cherish your word. Now I can't even listen to "The Ghost Song" without the text "It's a Plant" manifesting in my mental theater. You chose a delicate time to come into my life, man.

I think the doors are pretty good, no favorite song though. But I just gotta say, Atmosphere. Always on my playlists. I got pretty much every piece of material slug and ant have released together, and most of if not all of slugs work alone.

I'm reading that Umphrey's is playing Summerfest (milwaukee) on July 5 ... if you're close enough for a road trip ... see you there.

Anyone listen to the Doors Live at Midnight CD? I love hearing them live, just wailing and Jim Morrison screaming his heart out.
