Questions on minimum Req's for growing

Ok I got a couple quick questions on growing a plant.

1. How much room does 1 plant really need to grow well indoors.
- I am thinking of growing 1 plant to full and wondering how small a set up I can get away with.

2. How much would 1 fully grown healthy plant produce.



Heres my schmeal.....
Was browsing and saw the Rubber-Maid setup and thought pretty cool but still kind of takes up a lot of room. I am very very limited atm in the room or places I could put a setup do to kids.
So I was at Target(getting morning mocha) and decided to check out prices and whatnot of Rubber-maids and stuff and came across some Wiremesh garbage cans. I thought to myself, "Hey fucker doesnt that look like it might work for a growing container." One of my concerns is leaving this unattended or the possiblity of a fire. Well metal doesnt exactly catch fire like rubber so I thought it might work better. The advantage of cutting the metal to hold lights and a fan and whatnot seem better with the metal over rubber, Plus nothing to heat up to catch fire.

So how small a surrounding does 1 plant need to grow nice and big and healthy?

P.S any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1 plant? And what will you do when that one plant is a male or "fails to thrive"? It happens often enough that it needs to be planned into the grow so I always suggest planting at least twice as many as what you seek, IOW, plant at least 2 but to be safe I'd plant 5 and still be hoping & praying for one nice healthy female! But if you're looking to keep this hidden from mom or roomies, forget it. You can't hide a grow from mom...and room mates will know as soon as the hum of the lights come on...then there's the smell. But if you have all of that covered it'd be best to start with a light then build your grow around it. A 250W would be ideal for your purposes and will grow 4 plants in a two month veg, 2 month flower or 4 months total. One plant grown within that time-frame usually produces around 1oz +/- of dry, well manicured bud.

Not hiding from mom or roomies. I would do it in my wifes and my bedroom. I have seen the 2x2 thing and I have 2 small plants growing atm under a light. how small a planting pot would these 2 plants need to have to grow to maturity? And how much head room do they need?

Growing one big tall plant will be more hassle and money than growing two small ones

lights do not effectivly illuminate tall plants. as you notice the rubber-m grow box it's 1 plant which isn't tall but taking up a huge area.
now thats a good production system

you arn't going to be able to get away with much less than the rubbermaid bin. it's so small i cant understand how you dont have room.

it's your best chance

for your two plants you'd want, about 1 ft x 2.5 ft and at least 2.5 feet tall
as you need room for both the pot and accutal plant's height

an interesting idea is to buy a big rubber tub and put in 4-6 inches of soil. and plant your plants right in it! they could get a nice big root system but not have the height from the pot.

this is dangerious thought, because you couldn't flush the plants if you over fert'ed and you risk over watering if you dont watch what your doing.

other than that. it's a good idea IMO
