For those of you who quit, which i guess isn't many, because if you have you probably wouldnt be here.... but for those of you who quit, how do u know its time?

I still love smoking and what not, but for some reason im getting this feeling that i should quit soon. I don't want to do it as much, I can tell you that, and I don't really want to quit either, but I want to only smoke once or twice a month, rather than every day. But i don't see how that is possible. I haven't smoked since April 1st and its been pretty easy. Im not smoking till 420. Everyone on my floor (in my dorm) kinda stopped smoking for other various reasons so i haven't had weed around me which has helped, so its been pretty easy.

the thing is, once the semester is over, i will go back to my home town, and have nothing to do, and probably smoke up with my friends all the time like usual. . . but I don't really want to do that.

I don't know what to do about it.

Well i guess I don't even know what the point of this thread is - just leave feedback based on whatever u got from it....

peace.

If it gets to the point where you no longer enjoy the weed then its probably time for a break from the weed.

You know you should take a break or quit when it interferes with you life severly, or you start to feel a mental addiction. You can tell if your becoming mentally dependant on marijuana, because you smoke it when your sad or depressed just to feel better, and you smoke it all the time. If you think about smoking pot all day and night, and you do it just to feel "normal", you may be addicted just a little. Also if you steal or act differently because of your habit, you may want to take a break. That's my two cents...

You neva quit you're in it for life!
Hehe...I guess it's like all things in life when you stop benefiting from it or the cost is greater than the benefit then you need to stop. I've seen people abuse MMORPGs more than i've seen them abuse cannabis.

I've been on my way to quitting for the past few months. So far, I've gone from smoking twice a day every day to twice a week. I plan on stopping completely after 4/20, but only do it when I visit Amsterdam this summer. I think that the time for me to stop was when I felt like it was becoming a habit and I don't want to have a habit that revolves around drugs. This might not make sense cuz i'm kinda baked, but still thought I would try to help out.

Everyone should take some time off now and again for perspective. I take usually 6-12 months off every so often.

Some people I know quit permanently. Me, I say, everything in moderation.

If you're back in your hometown, spend the first month hanging out with your friends sober. If they want to smoke, that's cool. It's always been frequent in the past that often less than half of a group of people I was hanging out with where smoking. Both perspectives on any event have some value :)

Don't take what I say the wrong way, but try a new drug. I'm not saying go find some ashy black dude downtown for a 10 bag of horse, but there are other fun drugs which are almost as safe as cannabis. Either that, or yeah, like everyone else is saying, just take a break. Weed gets boring when you just sit around smoking it all day long. Not to mention the next time you pick it up, you'll get that much more stoned.

When you find yourself on your knees in a dirty bathroom stall staring down a crooked, smelly penis it's probably time to quit.

What, I'm the only one?

Basically when you lose the desire to smoke and you find yourself smoking large amounts to get high but that can also be perfectally normal to a regular stoner

i quit over a year ago. and for me it was pretty damn obvious as to why. when you just dont want to smoke anymore, or when it feels like a chore to smoke. its time to hang it up. when it quits being fun, its time to quit.
