I currently can't hear out of my left ear. I have a big ball of wax or something lodged in there and have tried a few methods of getting it out including poroxide, suction cuping my ear, and dry q-tips. I think I will need to see a doctor.
That is besides the point though. We went to see Blades of Glory tonight and sat on the right side of the theater. My hearing was filled with the sound of the movie and all the extra background noise was made into a muffle. It was great. Normally when people are talking it annoys the crap out of me. I usually sit there getting more and more pissed off. Not tonight though, I couldn't hear any of those assholes.

They shoot water in your ear and it cleans it all out. It's a really weird feeling when it's done but sooo relieving afterwards.

I never had the water... At least I don't think, they always used a vacum thing on me. That was very unpleasent, much worse than at the eye doctor when they shot a bullet of air in your eyes. I always freak out.
Who knows it may be water they are shooting in there and it just feels like they are sucking stuff out to me.

Soak it with peroxide a few times then get a good spray bottle with a solid strong stream... put warm water in it and shoot your ear... The doc does it with one of those big silver syringes...
Chill on the Qtips cause your only packing it in...

I guess its good to look at the positive side of being temporarily deaf....
I heard that warm/hot water can melt the wax inside ur ear...

I knowa good many husbands (like my dad, in fact) who are very comfortable with hearing less outta one ear than another. That's the side they let their wives talk into. Keep that in mind later when you're married, Jagged!

Being deaf is not fun. I did this project where I was "Deaf for a Day," I couldn't imagine being deaf or hard-of-hearing.

They make over the counter ear wax removal drops/kits. Try one of those for $7 first. It does have an ingredient, carbamide peroxide, that is somewhat similar to hydrogen peroxide but it works differently and better. Also, it will have other ingredients to help dissolve the wax.

I have had impaired hearing all my life and ive found it was always useful when trying to sleep as you can muffle out surrounding noises. Unfortunately im getting an operation later on in the year to fix this. :(

there are these cone shaped things you stick in your ear and light a match and put it inside the cone and all the wax melts and pours out. You wont believe how much wax is backed up in your ears. It sounds fucked up but if you have someone do it for you, you should be fine.
