View Full Version : How would you sell all your stuff?

Well it looks like I will be leaving the USA in November or December of this year.

It seems silly to store all of my stuff since the idea is to leave and only come back on visits.

I can sell the larger stuff with yard sales and auctions. But there is no way I could sell all the smaller items.

I was thinking of selling the smaller items on ebay or listing boxes of various small stuff on craiglist.

What would you do to sell almost everything you own? I have some time but I need ideas.

well yard sales are good. ask people you know if theres anything you have they might want to buy.

Have you thought about and estate type sale everyone comes looks at your stuff buys what they want.

you will never get rid of it all so donate some too.

Ebay....you'd be amazed at some of the shit people are looking for. And if you got some friends that ever mentioned how cool something was, let themhave it.If you still have shit and you can't take just give it to a salvation army or good will.

Thanks for all the ideas.

I am going to do a combination of all these ideas. Well most of them anyway.

My goal is to be rid of all my stuff in 3 months.

BlazinTreesX3: I love your idea. When I get to that phase I will be trying that idea.

originalblu: I guess I could get rid of all my stuff quick that way! My town does not allow outdoor burning, however.

Almost everything- House, Car, furniture ,books, etc.

The house and grow lights (if I have any grow lights) will go last.

I am going to be moving to Central America or the some place in the Caribbean, so I can get new stuff there.

A lot of people in my area put things in the craigslist like a cough or table and have people pick it up in front of their house for free. They just leave it out all day and night and eventually you come home one day and its gone!

I would start with the larger objects and move down, that way any small objects that are left over you can take with you and keep to sell later on eBay.

I just discovered Craig's List. I am going to maybe buy a 400w system with a HPS and MH bulb, reflector, ballast, the works!

chewbacker: I have narrowed it down to a few countries based on taxes and other considerations. I have a large house and things I do not use. Why would I want to pay import duties on things I don't use? The idea is to spend several months down there looking for the right place to live.

puddlecruzier: You made me smile. I am not wanted for anything, nor do I have a criminal record. If I did I certainly would not be posting about leaving the US on the Internet.

I will always have a computer with me. I will also post when I can.

Getting rid on my stuff is a pain in the butt. It will be a few months before I can get rid of most of it.

Thanks for all the suggestions
