Here's my inbreeding project at day 41. I was expecting about an eighth. Think I'll get a quarter? I just hope she's knocked up. It's my first time breeding, and 1st time trying an auto-flowering strain.

Those plants look nice :D. I hope you get all the results you want. I don't know how much you'll yield with those things. Never really thought about LR that much haha.

Ive read lowriders can yeild up to 10 grams witch is around 5/16 so yeah you will probably get around a quarter

It's hard to guess yeild with LR - the same as most strains. It can give you a great yeild or a very small one, either way, it's a great plant and the high/stone is better than you'd expect.

yeah I think Im gonna grow it, the price has gone down to £30 for 10 seeds from £45. So yeah, will the yield depend on how well the plant is looked after, e.g strong lighting, good ferts.

Thanks everyone for your feedback...here's my setup/quasi log:


2 x Lights of America (Flourex) 65w/6500k/4550 lumen CFL Floodlights
4 x 26w 2700K/1600 & 1700 lumen CFL (2 GE, 2 Fresh 2Ti)
15,700 lumens (about 7850 lumens/square ft)

18/6 schedule

1 gallon pots
Supersoil/Perlite/Worm Castings (not measured)
20-20-20 (3rd & 4th week) / 10-52-10 (4th week - present) every 3rd or 4th watering, both forumlas gradually mixed to full outdoor strength.


*seeds bought from Growshop Alien, 1 out of 10 was crushed
*Seeds sown on 2/25 after soaking overnight in a glass of water, straight to shallow soil in styrofoam cups...there for almost 3 weeks
*4 out of 4 popped/day 15 first signs of sex/got 1 female, 1 male, 2 hermies!


After growing 3 footers, I have to say this is as much, maybe more fun. After the first two weeks, every day, it's like a drastically different plant!

I'll post more pics at around day 50 in the home stretch.

hey tricky,

I'm mating it with a male lowryder 2....it's twice as tall as the female!

...this leads me to a question (also a question for anyone)

Assuming I'll have scores of seeds...for my next Lowryder grow, should I:

A) grow for seed again, selecting the strongest single male and strongest single female

B) grow the remaining 5 seeds that originally shipped (I only used 4 and 1 was crushed)

c) "sit out" a few and grow sinsemilla. Then when supply runs low, breed again.

See how many seeds you end up getting. If you're happy with the number, then go with option C. If not, breed again, until you get your desired amount of seeds. Either way, stay high:thumbsup:

You can easily get 100-300 seeds per plant if they are well pollenated

Thanks, I'm leaning toward option c, too. What I thought was a cluster of male sacs down low turned out to be under-ripe seeds! (we're talking way low where there's no light and I thought pollen wouldn't reah, too!)...so I'm starting to think it's going to be mostly seed and no smoke, but that's okay this time. As long as there's enough to sample.

I think she's almost done. Yesterday the trichomes were about 25% amber. I'm turning off the lights tomorrow and putting her in a windowsill while I'm away for a few days to give the seeds a little more time.

Can anyone guess what yield I might expect from this 8"-er?

If your growing the plant for a seed harvest you want to leave it flowering a bit longer than you normally would. You want all the seeds to be mature!

I got back last night and plucked almost 100 dark, firm seeds from her, and she isn't even harvested yet! I only took seeds that were all but dropped. I think there'll be nothing to actually smoke! It's all good though.

it's not likely you'll get much off of it to smoke in the end considering you're growing for beans...it's like this, man..those little calyxes(seedpods) the seeds are in are what protect the seed, if the plant is pollenated the seeds form inside these calyxes...if they're not pollenated, you have calyxes without seeds in them you can smoke...

Do another go round with just females with all of those beans you have man, you'll get some good smoke from them :D

I lost count somewhere after 500. I tossed most of the light colored ones. I made a real bonehead mistake. I didn't think about water being in the seeds and when I opened the container, could see and smell a faint onset of mold on some seeds. I tossed those and put the ones that looked okay in a large bowl to dry out for a few days. Hopefully some will still germinate. Oh well, that's how to learn I guess...

This probably isn't an accurate dry weight yet, right now it's around the 1/4 oz I was expecting late in the grow. If all the seeds were still in there, it would be around 21 g's seeded. Now I hope I can get that with sinsemilla!

hey hydro, if you mean 2 T5 floros, then I'd say probably yes.

If you're asking about my same setup, then I don't really know. Twice the space and I'm looking at just under 4000 lumens per square feet, still well above the textbook minimum to sustain growth. Divide by 3 and I'm looking at just about the minimum to sustain growth. The one advantage of flexible gooseneck lamps and Y-adapters is that I could light two sides in of the plant really well in addition to overhead lighting. This time I'd like to add two more desk lamps to have 8 x 26 w warm lights surrounding the plant(s)...

I'm strictly on CFLs myself, now. I used a 400w HPS for two grows and loved it. I'm knee deep in weed because of it, but it's too hot and bothersome for my fly-by-night setup.

I say try it and let's compare results! Good luck.

I'm pretty sure it's still drying (come to think of it, haven't tried snapping any branches to test)...buds feel really dry to the touch.

I couldn't wait any longer.

1st impressions:

(not accounting for picked-at appearance)
Odd smell. I'll chalk some of it up to chlorophyll.
Different taste. Sweet, smoothe. Not skunky nor fruity. (again, essentially no curing time so far)

1st hit impression: creeper. Getting heavier by the minute. tapered off at about 10 minutes.

This is a fine weed. You can see how little I took, what you can't see is my fairly high tolerance. Kind of an all-over buzz.

Nice, the taste, kind of smoky, woodsy...not bad. Aftertaste reminds one of rich, smoothe tobacco. Smoked that small amount in 2 full bong rips. Enough to say it has a place in my grow room anytime!

yah my setup was gunna be maybe six 25watt CLF lights and 2 three foot long 25 watt floro lights.
my LR grow was gunna be in a 6 plant hydro bybbler system.

or six 100 watt clf lights in a 6 plant hydro bubbler system.

For me, I equate pot varieties to wines, but the actual stone is usually the about same. I don't find the taste of LR2 offputting at all..is countless times better than the worst brown frown you can imagine. Well, to answer your question...pretty good, because I just realized I never really answered your question right from before. The buzz is great...in your head and body, but I'm mostly feeling it in the head...No SWAGG headaches...

By the way...also didn't notice until now...low munchy factor.


I'd say this wouldn't be the bud to break out to admire, open the lid and waft amongst friends. On the other hand, for the sheer novelty of it, and to get stoned off 8 week old plant, you might.

yes, as far as I can tell, you would treat it like common cannabis. Just introduce food in a weak mixture, then every few waterings more and more concentration. Final 2 weeks, nothing but straight water and you should be fine. Myself, I switched from a 20-20-20 forumula to ??-50-?? (Miracle Grow Bloom Booster) after I positively identified flower gender.

What fertilizer do you plan to use? Now that I'm sticking to lowryders for the time being, I want to experiment and switch up things. Variety of fertilizers is the first variable I want to try. Thanks!
