The Breakfast Club is about 5 teenagers from different clicks all end up in detention. Ally Sheedy is the weird girl, Molly Ringwald is the preppy rich girl, Emilio Estevez is the cool jock, Judd Nelson is the rebel outcast, and Anthony Michael Hall is the nerd. They all bond and torture the idiot teacher while they're supposed to be writing an essay for detention. They decide to call themselves "The Breakfast Club" (cuz it's Saturday morning )Anothony Michael Hall writes the whole essay, Molly Ringwald puts her lispstick on with her boobs, Ally and Emilio become and item, so do Judd and Molly. At the end, Molly gives Judd the diamond stud out of her ear. Now you never have to see the movie again. Hahaha, no watch it, it's fun and there's great 80's music.

Personally, I think the movie is gay as hell. As Jay and Silent Bob once said, "What kind of kids actually go to detention??" The only 2 characters I could tolerate in this movie were the guys that Hall and Estevez played. They made the movie watchable in my opinion. I personally can't stand Molly Ringwald. Ugly ho. :D

Breakfast Club is a classic. They get high in the school library, it is great. Not Another Teen Movie makes fun of it a lot. They even got the same teacher to be in it.

Is that a quote from the movie? Sounds like something that rebel guy with the cigar burn would say while being locked in the closet by that prick teacher.

Yeah, it is kind of cheesy, but you have to remember that back in 1984 there were fewer movie ratings than there are now. So, if a film was a little too racy it would be rated R and I'm sure the Breakfast Club was made for a younger audience (I was 10 when I saw it at the theater). They had to keep it tame to keep their PG rating. Unfortunately, it comprimises the movie when it becomes all about the money and not about integrity.

Yay! Breakfast Club rocks lol

It's all about identities and class separation dudes.
It's about dealing with adolescent issues, and trying to understand other peoples backgrounds and lifestyles.
It's aslo about the generation gap (ie, the teacher says: "kids are different to how we used to be", and the Janitor says: "Nope, the kids are the same as we used to be...we just got older" (or summat like that)).

It's about peer pressure and rebellion against the system..

John Hughes is a kick-ass film producer, and should be immortalised in the all-time Hall of Fame, for thought provoking movies, that don't necessarily subscribe to the ickly-sickly sweet ideals of Hollywood.

Nuff said!
lol

Only someone as old as you would be able to recollect that. ;):p I have to count on nostalgic types to recount the days of old for me.

But, aint it funny how, each time you view it, you kinda relate to a different character?
