i'm thinking when it comes to bud there's a big difference between possessing over or under an ounce, but i have no clue about growing; as long as there's not intention to sell (just a few plants) i wonder if there's a difference between, say 2 and 4 plants, or 4 and 8. i might have as much as 9 at a time, 4 clones and a mother in veg, 4 flowering. mostly likely i'll flower two at a time, and have one mother and two clones in veg though. when i start i'll have 10 seeds though so i'll germinate them all

i hate getting into this, as i want to plan my garden around a limited degree of potential prosecution

we're talking 12hrs of 250w hps, and 18hrs of about 150w of cfls all the time, so no big deal there.

anyway, i'm trying to find info but coming up short

i don't want to jinx my shit, but i need to knwo

with just a couple plants? that seems pretty plausable to me; the last thing i want to do is sell; way too high a profile for me; i'd never do it. but you're right, what you can prove is the issue

god, i hate this issue

The good news - Colorado is one of the states that is less harsh when it comes to prosicuting for MJ
The bad news - Having any indoor op is extremely dangerous. That's why I no longer have one. Outdoor Geurilla style is much safer. In many states growing is an automatic "manufacture illigal drug" and "intent to distribute" charge. In others is can be that if they want to FK you. They can count every spec of vegatative material as weight not just the buds. Even the main stalk of a vegging plant is counted as weight. In some cases they can seize your property just like they can seize a car used in a burglury. Make no mistake about it. Growing indoors is very, very serious shit. Tell no one and be real carefull. Now that I look back on it, I must have been crazy to do it when I did. Good luck

uhh, yeah. i gotta do some more research here; i know colorado tends to be more lax, denver has the whole "no prosecution if holding under and ounce" law, and boulder is a HUGE pot town, super liberal and hippie, huge 420 celebration at CU etc. doesn't mean the cops can't still fuck me though. arggg...

i'm gonna be a little honest here and say: i have no friends at all here. no one comes over. i recently got divorced i don't know anybody in this area. no one would suspect me. that at least is in my favor. but still, fuck, i don't want a bust to ruin my life, or my education or career

Good for you! Tell no one you grow and don't deal, you will be fine.

yes, that's something that will never be an issue

my biggest threat is maintenance staff, or someone coming in to the appartment. i'll have locks on the growroom, but still. but then, the maintenace guys are total potheads anyway so win-win :)

i gotta fucking do it; just have to decide whether to confine to just a closet or not, and whether i can handle the heat of hps

If your gonna do it in an apartment, keep it in a seperate room / closet with a very secure lock on it. Not just one of those door nob courtesy type locks, but an actual security type padlock. re-enforce the jam too. Make it so the maintenance staff would have to literally break the wall down to get in. Take all the usual precations like blocking all light, controlling oder etc. Tell no one and don't deal and you will do OK. If anyone like mintenance or visitors asks whats in the locked room, tell em thats where you keep your firearms and amo. Just want to be safe right?

good luck,

bob

yes, that's the plan; lock on the bedroom door, bigger lock on the closet in the bedroom; things are looking more and more flourescent because of heat. small grow cabinet for veg in the closet, mylar wall to seperate from flower room, flower room under t5 flouro most like, it's going to get warm here. if i started months ago i wouldn't have an issue though :) it's snowing! yeah! crazy weather

You mean you guys have never heard about NORML.org ???

Colorado - NORML (http://norml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID=4526)

yes i checked norml but it's not quite clear

what does
"Any amount (with payment)" mean? under sale and cultivation. i'll never ever sell anything to anyone, heck i probably won't even ever smoke my own bud with anyone.

and the "under one ounce" cultivated law is a bit confusing. if i were busted, i might have less than an ounce of bud in the house total, but if they are counting the entire plant than clearly it's a null issue. and what does "whithout payment" mean, since under an ounce selliing "without payment" makes no sense since you're getting payed, and under and ounce of plant matter is pretty ridiculous

it's just not clear. what i'm trying to find out is if i hav four plants, and i get busted, what happens. i'm guessing several thousand bucks in fines and fees, and several years of probabtion? does that sound right? i can't imagine they'd put me in prison for growing a couple plants? especially in this state

as i'm continuing to plan my grow, i'm now thinking of not having a veg and a growroom, for the one reason of space, but also because i'll have less plants at a given time, and less electricity use each day, but i'd be harvesting every 3-4 months rather than every two or less.

anyway, i think i'm getting the drift. having a felony on record is nothing i want. have to be impeccably careful, and i will be. in fact, i'm afraid once i get going i won't be posting here anymore. paranoia can be good :)

One more thing - make sure you have at least one key type padlock on the door and not just a combination lock. I recomend two locks. This way when someone says "Oh really, guns huh? can I see your gun collection" you can reply:
"Oh sorry but that key is on my other key chain that I left at work, or left at grandma's house, or left at the gym, or up my ass, or anything other than it's handy and available here and now at the moment if you catch my drift. I once had a similar locked closet in my garage where I kept my "firearms and amo" and it stayed locked up safely for over five years. Nobody ever really asked questions and I had lots and lots of visitors. Also, being a christian I do not ever lie about anything. My guns and amo where in fact in that same closet.
