Rebgirl Needs help pertaining to bongs...

Okay.....I wanna get a bong but im pretty retarded when it comes to that area. Im mostly just a spoon pipe smoker, chillums, and the ocasional joint kind of girl. So can anyone tell me a good, kick ass bong for a beginner and how to use one....heres the link to the site im thinking about getting it from...I havent picked one though. there really isint any wrong way to chose a bong, just go with your favorite colours, and what bowl size you think is approiate. When buying bongs, i consider how its going to hide well , is it going to break easy, and how hard is it to be getting the rez out later on ( im old fashioned, ive pereected the pin and bobby pin mode!, i dont use alchol or boil out my pipes, fuck that,) but neway, i definantly would shop around, because after you buy one , another one comes out thicker more vibrant colours, cheaper ect. so shop around and do some comparasons. oh and whats up with yuor local head shops, what made you turn to the net!?

Well all you have to do is put the water in and smoke all day and at night dump it out and fill it the next day bongs are amazing i highly recemmend getting one!!!!This one perhaps it looks really nice and has a beatiful case!!!!

if you want a nice expensive bong, get a roor. they are the shit, although they don't color change. I'd recomend a glass one, they might break but they are soooo much sweeter than a plastic one.

glass bongs don't have carbs, the bowl, called a slide, sits in the downstem so you pull the slide up to clear the bong. plastic bongs usually have a carb you have to cover.

just made sure you don't fill it up with too much water (bong water is GROSS)

somethings to look for also
~an ice catcher, its a nub so you can put ice in the long part of the bong to cool the smoke, very smooth.

~some downstems have several holes in the water, this helps smooth it also by having more water contact with the smoke

~color changing

if you wanna spend the money you can get a percalator...it has 4-5 water chambers so the smoke gets filtered like a fine vodka but they are like 400bucks

Bongs are rated one of the worst when it comes to THC delivery, but you are able to get a bigger hit off of them, so it equals out, also the water filters out alot of the bad shit and keeps that from going in your lungs, ie. the tar and shit. The bong is fundimentally a bowl which its stem goes into a little bit of water, then when you suck on it, you get the famous bubbling sound from the smoke coming down the stem into the water, kind of like blowing in a straw, but in reverse... pretty simple idea once you understand it, one thing i like to do when i smoke out of a bong is to crush up some ice, and put that in with a little bit of water, it supercools the smoke, and gives you an even smoother hit

Look this is how a bong works you suck through the top right ok the smoke is then drawn through the bowl through the downstem witch is submerged in to th water about half way ot untill you dont suck up water anymore anyway its pulled through the downstem into the water then in goes through the water into the bong then into your luings and thats basiclly how it works hope that helped!!!!:rastasmoke:

Go to youtube and search for videos about bongs. You can watch the people in the videos take bong hits. It will show you how people fill the bongs, hit the bongs, and use the bongs. It's not really that hard. Bongs are pretty awesome. Good luck!

i'd get a curved shaft bong, something like in the first pic u posted. this is cos when you put your mouth over the shaft to inhale, your hair kind of droops down and unless you make sure to tie it back it has a tendency to ignite. happened to me all the time

First of all glass is soo important when it comes to bongs as far as taste goes. Cleaning of your bong is also important(as far as filtration goes), if your bong has any acriic, clay, plastic, metal even rubber plugs you will taste it. I have been smoking bongs all my life from making them to seeing the newest technology in bongs. Roor, PHX, Molino, and Volcano(bongs not vaps.) are some of the leaders in bongs and bong technology, they all are glass on glass, all have options of percolators, difusers, Ice, and different bowls(most with the exception of molino are well over $200 usd. When it comes to clean clear tastey hits you dont what much air to mix with your smoke so any bong with a carb/rush hole is not a good choice( their are carbs desigen to compenstate for this flaw, however they are all well over $300 USD. When it comes to cool well filterd hits you want a percolator and a Difuser and ice of coars(all are forms of filtration even the ice). I know pepole who spend over $2000 on their bongs and their great works of hand blown art. However for the rest of us who want the best in technology and basicaly the best hits and smoking pleasrue with out selling a car to pay for it. Are kinds stuck looking at all the nice stuff on the net. I like you reb live where the man has closed alot of cool spots such as smoke shops and am forst to look on the net. That is when I found this jem for $105 USD you too can have the Molino Mad Scientist deliverd to your door. Check out the demo vid I made. In the middle of the vid there is a slow motion shot so you can see how the bong works. You will see how the smoke moves under the water and into your mouth. I suppose I'll do this. I think a carb in a bong is just stupid. All it is there for is to spill bongwater all over and get your thumb wet and smelling like bongwater. Not to mention it doesn't clear a bong worth a damn. You are going to want one where there is no carb. To clear it, you pull the bowl out and clear it with fresh air like that. Most likely going to be glass. Acrylic (its plastic, lets not kid ourselves) feels cheap, looks cheap. If you haven't already bought that bong reb, i would advise against.

i'd say fill it with water in the green box. i'm guessing you need water to go above the diffuser for it to work. and don't worry about not knowing how to smoke out of it. once you hit it for the first time you'll understand then comes the practice. lol.

Yes you cover the bottom of the stem with the water, but not so high that the stem gets flooded and soaks your weed.

I think MisterGreen nailed it there for you.

Because you want to suck the smoke through the water to filter it, as is the whole point of the bong other then bigger hits.

get the cheapest you can for a first.. in a year or so i garuntee it'll be broke... no sense on getting your first bong a really expensive one, getting to love it only get broke... get a nice cheap one for a starter bong.... expensive bongs offer nothing more than cheap ones, other then tehir visual appeal... roor claims to be specificly designed to provide the best hits.. but i don't buy into that BS. and personaly i feel anyone who does is just an advertisement puppet.... like a couple of smaller/bigger holes is gonna make some huge ass diffrence...

as for how to smoke from them.. it's really quite simple atually... load the bowl like a pipe (just a bit tighter) start hitting it, when you're lungs are nearly full (dpeends on the chamber size really) and you can only fit the remaing spaceof air the chamber takes up, pull the bowl out to clear the bong.... takes soem practice.. but with practice.. eventually you'll be able to estimate how ot hit any other bong.. you begin to get a feel afterawhile... and all you gotta do is size up a bong for all of a second to know when to pull the bowl....

hey rebgirl that pink bong looks like acrylic, if you want a REAL bong go with glass. however, if you still want that one, the water goes in like the right side of the pic you added arrows to. the water level should be like a cm or so below the actual bowl (also take care if the water is high because if you inhale quickly and then stop inhaling, the water is gonna shoot up the stem onto your weed- happened way too many times with me before haha its always a bitch to have to dry the weed out after). the pink acrylic hole part of that bong is to break the big bubbles down into smaller bubbles. this helps filter the smoke better and offers a smoother hit.

I bought a short glass one that is eh ...ok try and get a taller one ive hit taller ones above 1 foot and those are pretty good, mines at about a ft.

nah i wasnt filling it up too much it was a home made bong and it was in a wierd shape. i dont have that problem with my actual 14" bong.

Bong prices greatley affect the hits and smoking experiance. Those roor bongs that are $500 and up are high quality glass, meaning its thicker and is made acertain way, in certain environments, so the glass is sronger, clearer and has virtualy no taste. The problem with roor is when it comes down to filtration technology. If you want 2-3 percolators and a diffuser, ice and a precooler(ashcatcher) your gonna pay over $1000. All those little bongs that reb is looking at are a good price and glass, but they come right outta the 60's and 70's no real filtration(not even a difuser). Reb you want somthing with at least a difuser and Ice filtration. Which for the price $105 USD to get it too your door I say The Mad Scientist is the only way to go. Reb if any thing get a small bushmaster that has ice and a diffuser( most are glass on glass).

Since you are a first time bong smoker I highly recommend using cold water and ice cubes to cool the air even more you will be able to bigger hits that way.

Oh yeah peeps the water getting coughed back up through the stem isn't a big deal if you have a pull carb (which in my opinion is a necessity for a proper bong) and you used it properly which rebgirl has on hers...

When you get that thing master the art of pulling the bowl properly so you don't get to much extra smoke in the chamber. If you smoke properly with it you can end up smoking less weed for the same high as compared to other methods. You'll probably have it down after an 1/8th

I agree, slipknot is right, for your first bong you don't need precoolers or ash catchers or any of that shit. That little glass bong you showed in the post I quoted here is perfect. And your pink one was acrylic, I personally would go with a glass one. It may be harder to find a pink glass one but I just have something against smoking out of plastic.

I know everyone is saying get a cheap one. If thats all you can afford, then go ahead. But if you ever go to someones house who has a nice/decent bong (~$60+), you will notice it *immediately* and think "wow, my bong sucks". Especially if you go acrylic.

Get about 80.00 rounded up, go to your local headshop (assuming you are over 18) and have the guy there talk you into the best bong.

After you decide size and glass (i hope) and no carb, then its just a question of what you want it to look like. I just bought a zong for 55.00 and I love it to death. If you buy an acylic 3" tube bong, get ready to taste bongwater because those are notorious for bubbling up into the tube.

The stem of the bowl should be submerged in the water. like the second pic, cause the smoke has to go through the water to be filtered in a sense from the water :D

As a thirty some odd year bong smoker I would recommend the cheaper bong. The smoking chamber looks to be about the right size for a nice smooth hit. The bigger bongs people were talking about (and even the pink one you posted) have some pretty large chambers. Yes, they will get you mega stoned but at a price. You are able to take in a huge amount of smoke because it is cooled and condescend by the water but once it hits your lung and body temperature the smoke begins to expand and blows your bloody lungs out. Yes, a large chambered bong will get you higher, but at what price?

My friend had a mini plastic bong that we would dry hoot out of all the time and it wasnt harsh. It was nothing compared to a nice glass water bong hit with water. Water Bongs are the least bad for you smoke wise way to go other then vaporizors

I was lookin around for u and wasint really impressed with the options but when i saw those they looked good check it out i dont know about the prices tho sum things are reasonable tho i loooove my bong i dont have anyother thing to smoke out but it, and 4 real its one of the best things ive spent my money on. i had a sicc glass pipe but it broke and id still prefer my bong there good if ur a stay at home Budsmoker. peace:hippy:

blah my tan only costs me $6 for the Hawiann Tropic tanning oil. I mow my lawn once a week and put on the tanning oil work really nice, and works my abs too... Paying for a tan is so wrong... come on fake and bake is whack... You know you want a bong. It's not like you're dropping the cash for a vaporizer. Tan the natural way. You like weed cause its natural right? Well get your tan naturally too.

I refuse to tan outside and since I live in Pennsylvania the waeather is only suited for tanning for 3 or 4 months tops. Its not fake bake either, using a tanning bed works for me.
