I have abunch of little tiny tiny bugs in my tray...the tray my plants sit on...i was wondering if this homemade stuff will work...or if anyone knows of a homemade method?

Insects donā??t like the strong scent and taste of cloves, and cloves will successfully get rid of crawling insects in the garden and will kill flying insects. Combine approximately two tablespoons of ground cloves with a quart of water. Spray infested plants with this mixture, and make sure you donā??t forget the undersides of leaves. Reapply this homemade insecticide and bug repellent after it rains.

How wet is the tray?
Could be fungus gnats.
Why don't you just use pyrethrin right in the tray and kill them where they breed?

Fungus gnats are there because you don't allow the surface soil to dry between waterings. The flying gnats aren't the problem but their larvae can be if allowed to multiply as they eat roots and any other biological material in the top couple inches of the soil.

um yes you can. no one is stopping you! :D
I found a nice prodcut at home dePOT recently, it's an OMRI listed product that contains pyrethrins and insecticidal soap, um I can't remember the name but it comes in a dull greenish bottle and is certified organic, works GREAT for stupid stupid flying pests and their larvae, I use it for thrips.
