ok, so i was thinking northern lights, and that may well be what i grow, but now i'm redesigning my grow room and thinking that i have the height to perhaps go with a plant with some sativa in it.

i'll have one veg room under cfl and one grow room most likely under 250w hps, though i'll consider 400w hps if the energy cost increase is reasonable

anyway, room will just be a section of a bedroom, sectioned off with black vinyl, mylar on the inside, probably 5ft by 5ft, or perhaps 4by4. my celing is 8feet.

i'll probably flower 2 or 4 plants each cycle

considerations:

1.cost: i'm a first-timer and don't want to spend too much, but i will be creating a mother and cloning so i want something i'd want to grow over and over

2. low odor ( i live in an appt building)

3. easy-going plant, since i'm a first-timer it must be resiliant

4. great smoke; i prefer a heady high to a down and out stone, so thus thinking of sativa

5. good yield

so, if anyone has suggestions, please let me know specific strain from specific grower on specific website. i'm in the usa

ok, revision: probably will use a 400w hps for flowering, and i'd guess 4plants would be the average, though might be two or even just one

what about durbon poison? i've heard great things and it's listed by nirvana as "easy". it's also got a lot of sativa. it's listed on nirvana's site as "outdoor" but on seedboutique it's "indoor" and they note that it was crossed with skunk to make a "manageable" indoor growth. with a 8ft ceiling and a 400w hps light (say a 3x3 grow room thereabouts) would i be asking for it trying this one? it looks lovely; can anyone comment on ODOR???? that's important to me

also considering white widow and would like to know about odor of that

ok, WW apparently has strong odor so that's out. what about poison? what about silver pearl? these two are instock at seedboutique is why i ask, they seem interesting; silver pearl has NL in it and apparently is a good begginner

No don't try to grow durban poison or any other sativa really your first time out, they get big and will be a pain.
If you have that much ceiling height then why not just install a carbon filter?
Northern Lights is the classic beginner plant. Why not try that one? It takes a lickin.
