Hello, I am in my 9th week of flowering, growing some weed that i bought from the blackmarket (my friend) and i happened to have a seed in it. Some type of sativa i think. Anyways, i am now in my 9th week of flowering. The buds are nice and thick and healthy looking. In the last week and a half the top of the buds seem to be growing really thin, you can see the dramatic change on every bud of the plant. They seem to be filling in now more, and the highest part of the buds are starting to grow thick agian (it looks quite odd.) Also, the thin growth on top sprouted a lot of single fingered leafs that are quite large (agian, very odd looking.) i was thinking that the buds might have been to close to my lights, they seem to be growing better now that i bent the plant over a bit. Another theory: could i be causing this because i removed a bunch of single fingered leafs on the buds (so i could view trichomes)? Thanks for any help!

omg that is hilarious.
but yeah, those little spurts of new growth right at the end of flowering are called donkeys ears and they are considered a positive flower trait! (I just consider them good luck... it's always good to have a nice ass... lol)

The tops of my buds have sprouted a lot of tiny leaves, it looks really funny, i can see why they say donkey ears. My buds started getting the wierd growths on top, but now it seems that the same type of growth is coming out of the sides of the buds. My buds are really starting to get fat now, I am getting the thin growth out of the sides of the buds. Is this normal?

Hey, Stinky. Are you sure that is not heat stress? Only reason why I ask is because of the COOL keyboard drawing! :) How's ur temps, Pride? I hope it's what Stinky said, though.

Tiny LEAVES? Hm how tiny are we talking? Real donkey ears are composed of fresh calyxes with the same amount of tiny leafage that the rest of the bud had... C'mon we need pics dammit
or try googling 'donkey ear bud' or whatever for pics

soons like it is revegetitating... is it growing stems? make sure NO light leaks into the flowering room. If it revegs youll have to give it a week to revert back then itll have to finish the time it had left.

i am working on the pics. It does almost seem like it's going back to veg. The new wierd growths out of the sides is very thin and is sprouting single fingered leaves. But it is also full of little pods (calyxes?) that are sprouting long pink hairs

green frog- my heat levels were pretty high for a week or two. I was running the fan for an hour or two everyday, venting out into the room (it is in a closet.) but it would get pretty darn warm in there sometimes. I now have had the fan running when the lights are on (venting out) and it seem to stay a good temp in there. I have another plant that is right next to it, it matured slower (a 1-1/2 to 2 week lag) and it is not really showing the same type of growths.

earthy dank- i did forget to close the closet door a few days, so my plants prob got some light leaking in in the morning and night.

Well if it revegs theirs good news and bad news... good news is it will make the buds longer but the bad news is itll take a week to switch back and start growing again. I had on do that and it flowered for 80 days

sounds like it's either heat stress or reveging
