View Full Version : Planting in March, then come back for harvest in October

I was wondering where in the world you can just plant some small plants (about 8" or so), and come back in october/november to harvest. It grows naturally... So why can't you grow naturally with it?
I imagine that if you scattered them around and didn't cluster any, you could just plant them and not have to worry about human security.
So where can I move to do this lol

You can do this in the SE US. If you prep the spot properly before planting, they will grow with little intervention. We average over 4 inches rain per month here. It's a great place to live and grow stuff.

Minimal visits is the right way to go. Planting from female seeds or female clones means no weekly visits to kill half the crop in August. One or two visits for weeding is nessecary just because the weed competition in good soil is so fierce. You can try the no visit method, odds are you'll be disapointed with the results.

As with everything else in life, you get out what you put in.

Preparing the spot is important. Also, if you mulch around the plant it will do better during excessively wet and dry times and keep the competative weeds from starting. I use the local weeds for mulch and it does look stealthy.
I hate to weed, so I do the same in the garden. Mulch hay is great. Tempers the miosture and ground temperature and keeps your shoes clean when it's wet (instead of mud).

Thank you for the info guys! I am somewhat tempted to mail my cousin some lowryder seeds and tell her to plant them and I'll be there in 2 months when I roadtrip and harvest the plants lol
I realize now that if it was as simple as stick in the ground and come back later more people would do it. I was a little, how do you say.... stoned off my ass, when I posted :/ I need to stick to the "Post here when you're high tread" when I'm high  which will be in like 30 mins

All good ideas and input above. This year Cuz and I are going to try a 3X3 wrap of landscape fabric round each plant like a blanket around your Christmas tree. (a great idea from Nightpharmer) After placing the fabric, we will then cover it up with the usual mulch, leaves, dead grass etc. This should limit the need to visit even more by detering competing weeds. We are really trying to get this thing down to as few visits as absolutely needed. I figure just a couple water visits at first to get em started, a couple or 2-3 visits for supplimental water during any real dry periods, and one check with a fert meter about half way through and re-add the time release ferts as needed. Thats a total of only like 4-5 trips.
good luck to everybody

Thank you Cannabis Community for growing so much cannabis!!!!
Can you imagine how much that number would go up if they legalized hemp farming? Oh my god!!!!! It would be a 100 billion dollar industry! Ine reason why I am growing is so when it (hemp farming) is legalized, I can start a farm of cannabis and be on of the first to jump on the bandwagon. It's like the gold rush but I will already know where all the gold is!
Retirement by age 35 here I come! (and by retirement I mean traveling, writing books, growing cannabis, owning some small coffee shops (american crappy coffee) with my best friend, ect.)

Meh, if the stuff is legalized the price will drop through the floor.
It'll be just another crop... stop by your local farm stand... pick up some squash, a couple tomatoes, and a z of da dank...
I hate to say that commercial growers would pretty much either be forced to compete with 'legitimate' farmers, or go outta business.
It's one of the ironies of cannabis' current legal status. Only the cashcroppers really benefit from the laws as they stand now. It's fooked.

I wouldn't grow for the flower, but for the hemp...
The hemp is where it is going to be with all the industrial uses for it. Well just an idea from the mind of me...
