ok, which of the three is the best? please try not to pick something just cuz it's what you play... if you know nothing of the other two i guess you have no choice, but if you know about them, just overall gameplay and whatnot, what is the best (quests, missions, leveling, ect)

don't get sucked into an mmo, way more addictive than weed..

if this is your first time with MMOs, set a reasonable time and clock it and get someone else to monitor you

unless, of course, you don't have an addictive personality

i do have an addictive personality and i don't plan to pick up any of them...

i was a ffxi addict for ever... it was like my life... i don't play mmorpg's anymore... mmorpg's and life just don't work together lol... seems everytime something you've been waiting for ever on the game is about ot happen, real life calls... and if you're like me.. o.0 the game usually wins... i got sick of it so quit...

ya and at least in WoW to have fun I want to actually be able to compete, and it sucks when the people you compete with are fat 35 yr olds who live in a basement with way too much time on there hands, and after a while i just got sick of it. I played wow for way to long, i have like 100 days playing time logged on my main, a shitload of that time was logged when i was AFK and left the game on but still its a lot. I quit a while ago and bought the expansion when it first came out, and i got back into it again for like a month but then after the initial fun of levelling up again and everyone at the same level i realized its just gonna be the same shit again.........and i havent played in for like a month and a half now

I like MMOFPS like Planetside, thats a great game and you can play it casually. I used to be addicted to SWG pre-cu days omg i loved that game if only those fuckers didnt ruin it.

http://planetside.station.sony.com/

doesn't seem like my type of game... maybe i'll check it out tho. i still play FPS's religiously... as they dont' actually require 'work' to play... like on mmorpg's you basicly have to work to pay for everything you do in the game... in fps's you just pick up a gun and start shooting people lol...

WoW has a great flowing interface and the graphics are pretty good, given it's age. I think it'll be around for awhile yet.

ya dude and the fact its sooo customizable with mods and shit, its great. they really made wow to be the most addicting game lol.

saga of ryzom, im pretty sure i played the open beta a long time ago, complete shit imo

Personally I can't vote for any of those.
ffxi : Total let down, 100% PvE (can't kill each other) The class system in the game is amazing though but it never managed to keep me entertained for more than about a week.
WoW : It is fun for a while then it just becomes this game that you are wondering why you can't stop playing it. If any p2p mmorpg out of the list I might say this one.
eq: "one" of the greatest games of all time, but out dated and it sucks starting out a game that has other players that have been playing it for years.

now for game other people mentioned

Saga of Ryzom are you kidding

Silk Road Online, actually one of the better f2p korean games out there, but very annoying to play international servers, most friends you will make have a 12 hour time zone difference to you, and truthfully, all asian f2p games basically suck and are clones of each other with a few added differences

EQ2, pretty good game, the PvP sucks though, very easy game to get tired of

yes you can it's called ballista... you can't just walk up to someone in a leveling area and kill someone who doesn't wanna fight.... which is a better system then say diablo II

ballista is FFXI's PVP.

entire matches are set up, no one outside the match can interact with anyone inside and vice versa....

you have to enter the match to face any danger of being attacked, unlike diablo II where you just have to walk outside the city to have some prick run up on you and attack you for the hell of it.

guess it is something they eventually added in, sounds pretty lame, and a lot like the EQ2 Arena that I never actually used cause they released it and no one cared.. and D2??? This is a thread about mmorpg games lol, how did D2 find its way in ;p

yeah alot of people are pretty psyched about warhammer, made by DAoC company so big fan base over there, looks a little too WoW cartoony to me though but the little i have read up on it it seems liek they will have soem pretty cool game mechanics

mostly i was just looking for out of the three... they are the most popular among me and the people i know/known .... was just wondering what most people liked more out of 'em.. (as for eq, i know little about it, so eq2 was in that choice i guess lol)

I was just thinking about it after reading the last post and realized, even if I hate it WoW is prolly best, high populations compared to other games and plenty of low lvl players to play with. Even though there is the nut cases that have been playing for the past two years that it will be near impossible to catch up to in terms of gear, there is still plenty fun to be had for the new player that isn't sick to the stomach of the game yet
