SIOUX CITY, Iowa ?? If President Bush vetoes an Iraq war spending bill as promised, Congress quickly will provide the money without the withdrawal timeline the White House objects to because no lawmaker ??wants to play chicken with our troops,? Sen. Barack Obama said Sunday.
??My expectation is that we will continue to try to ratchet up the pressure on the president to change course,? the Democratic presidential candidate said in an interview with The Associated Press. ??I don't think that we will see a majority of the Senate vote to cut off funding at this stage.?

He just lost my vote. The only way to stop the insanity is to cut off the funding. They're all running scaird, afraid of political fallout because the ignorant American public actually believes the soldiers would run out of groceries if the funding was cut off. If Bush ran out of money and kept the military in the fight without funding, whose fault would it be? Bushs' thats who. Even that Idiot is not stupid enough to let that happen, and if he did, public opinion would crucify him. The threat of our troops being left on the battlefield without ammo is ludicrus. Cut the funding and the war stops. Bush knows it and that is why he is pushing this fear for the troops bullshit.

Likewise the Dems know that to cut off the purse strings would mean imminent defeat in the House, Senate, and Presidential races in "08".

-They unanimously voted in a "pro-surge" General then put out a non-binding resolution to stop the surge.
-They put out a war time budget calling for timelines and plump full of pork.
-We got Pelosi over in Syria instead of working of the budget OR allowing the vote on House Resolution 267, which condemns Iran for holding the Brits hostage. REAL good allie!!!

May as well have the Dems send their guns to Iraq instead of using them to shoot each other in the foot.

... what about this report? ...

Bush Criticizes Democrats Over War Funds (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_IRAQ?SITE=CATOR&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2007-04-02-16-27-15)
[snip]
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., announced he would try to eliminate money for the war if Bush rejects Congress' proposal to set a deadline to end combat.....
...Reid spokesman Jim Manley said the bill to cut off funds for the war would likely be introduced as standalone legislation and would not be tied to the supplemental spending bill.

I know the DNC are for the war and are making money off it as well .... hopefully right will prevail.:rastasmoke: :hippy:

Should be required to have troops out by beginning of 08. If bush hasn't done it by then...and as far as I'm concerned, he hasn't done it by now...it's not going to happen.

These fuckers have been fighting each other for thousands of years..why is it just now a problem? Because George Bush says it is? Fuck that shit. He is doing nothing but making himself look stupider and stupider by saying that if we don't have a stable middle east we wont be safe. How many planes come from there to america daily? plenty I bet. They will attack us any time we want. All we can do is improve homeland security and hope for the best...Homeland security that has been lacking in funding because of this stupid senseless fucking war.
