Perhaps the organization defines a process for you to go through, but nevertheless, the ego wants you to believe that as long as you stay in the organization and keep following its outer requirements, your salvation is guaranteed.

The reality of the situation is, however, that the ego has managed to herd you into a fold that it will now attempt to turn into a closed box, a mental prison that traps you indefinitely on the false path to salvation. By making you believe that your salvation is now guaranteed, the ego has neutralized your quest for truth. The ego can often silence your inner longing for an indefinite period of time, certainly for the rest of one lifetime.

I think your are right about there being only one truth in Christ. Christ truly is within us but our ego obscures the path to him. salvation is assured for those who seek him, for in seeking him, our sin or (lack of love) is literally erased from his sight.

We do need to ask Jesus to Atone for our sins, this is the only prayer we ever need to pray.

lol this may sound off topic but I had this high thought the other day which seems more weird when I am high compared to now when I am sober ,but I actually remeber the thought. Like there is good and evil .. god being good and satan being evil... and if you take a picture of god and then you see a plus sign and then there is a picture of satan and then you see an = sign and it equals a picture of a human and under each picture you see the words also like below pic of god is good and below pic of satan is evil and below pic of human is called goodeville which is like a mix between good and evil and then when I thought of the word goodeville .. I have always thought the bible was more a metaphoric expression of ideas to live by. The the Church is a wonderful place to gain insight, encouragment and find like minded people but in the end it is on each of us alone to bring the good or the bad into our own lives through the choices we make and it is our own responsibility to seek out those things in life that will bring us pleasure or pain, or to seek reason when we have only ignorance. Of caurse every now and then we get some natural disaster to keep us motivated. But I think our struggle with our own ego is actaully good for us, it is what challenges us to be better people. It is when we fall that we learn to be humble.

I agree with exactly what you said about how our ego gets in the way of knowing Jesus/enlightenment/nirvana/whatever you want to call it. But in this way Jesus even instructs to be extroverted. The new testament preaches service more than anything. Like when Jesus washed the feet of his disciples which was a task not even a slave had to perform. Jesus said that washing the feet of his disciples was an example of how humbly we should help and serve others.

Of course though, if one performs service and helps others only with the goal of entering heaven or some other metaphysical gratification he is wrong. One must completeley believe that serving and helping others is what is important. Heaven is not important. What we do on earth is important. For Too long people have been scared into believing for fear of going to hell [if the didnt belive]. and it has been too long that people have done good only with a personal goal of heaven in mind. Do goodness for the sake of others and goodness. Not for yourself.

it's like the tao...the tao that can be spoken is not the true tao. try to grasp it and it disappears. the buddha you meet is not the true buddha, it is an illusion for your ego there to stop you from continuing your journey. it's a false awakening, and if you accept it, then your search for truth has ended. instead, you must realize it's not a true awakening, that it's only an illusion, and instead continue on the path. the thing is that the buddha who you can meet and speak with is not the real cosmic buddha, but just an illusion. to "kill the buddha," you're destroying the illusion of false awakening and continuing on the path.
