I just germinated three seeds. the root for each one has reached about one inch. I just found out i have to leave town for about three days. Will my seeds last or am I fucked?

When you get back the taproots will probably be very long. I hear it's not a good thing to let the taproots get too big. I hear the minute the seed is splitting and showing the root you're suppose to plant it. I always planted mine the minute it showed and every single one popped out of dirt. I guess only thing you can do is hope your seeds are alright when you come back.

Why not plant them before you go away?

Huh?

Well, I got back a few hours ago to find the plant has grown 2 sets of leaves. one is the rounded set, the other textured. They're green and look healthy but the taproot has grown out pretty far. Its also grown out very small, hairlike roots. I put it in the pot ASAP. Got it watered, do you think it'll live?
BTW: I dont know why the hell I didnt plant it before I left. I guess I was being a dumb jackass.

You will just have to wait and see. If it didn't dry out it could be okay.

One thing i've had problems with in the same situation is that the stems seemed to be very week for the first two weeks or so.

Put a fan on them to strengthen the stem...tilt the fan or redirect the airflow so the seedling doesn't bear straight wind until it's stronger. They also need light as soon as they break the surface. If using flouro's put it just above the top of the seedlings and appx 1' for every 100W of HID's above the tops (up to 5' for the 1kw's), if going that route.

ye i put mine under lights as soon as i see the soil lifting that way they never get weak stems and a fan does help but i dont use one untill they get to 2 weeks old then the fan goes on as the close lights keeps them short a sturdy
