Hi all! For my second post I want to share my first growing experience with you. Iā??ve never done this before as Iā??m sure many first time growers have said before. As of tomorrow it will be 60 days. My facilities are not the best but itā??s seemed to be barely adequate at the very least. I have 4 plants growing; the pics below are of the biggest. Iā??ve done my homework and from what Iā??ve seen my plant seems to be kinda spindly, yet thriving. Iā??m sure it could benefit from more light but the setup I have right now is as good as it gets for the time being. And no, Iā??m not showing you guys my grow area because itā??s too embarrassing, I know it could use improvement, lets just leave it at that. lol:)

From the start they have been getting 24 hours of light. I will start a 12/12 light and dark period when Iā??m ready to enter the flowering stage. That is something I could use advice on, by the looks of this plant how much longer should I give this plant to grow before entering the flowering stage? I just repotted this plant today, it was sharing a larger pot with the 3 others, now it can thrive on itā??s own. My camera is obviously top of the line; hope it will do. Let me know what you all think!

Yeah I know, not perfect but I have high hopes for her. I have a couple coiled florescent bulbs I think 40watts or so each and a bulb from one of the back yard security flood lights I pilfered, they really started picking up when I added it. Maybe as time goes on I'll show everyone the shame of my growing area! hehehe!

If theyre from seed you shouldnt flower them until they start to show signs of sexually maturing. If sexually mature clones: whenever the size suits you.

OK, so I sat back and thought about it my lighting sucks too hard and I had a flash of insight. I have several security floodlights around my property so I snagged a couple more and replaced the florescent bulbs, which were only 30 watts a pieceā?¦ sad I knowā?¦

Now I donā??t know how many watts the floodlights have but it a helluva lot more! Now that I have better lighting Iā??m slightly less embarrassed to show my grow area, donā??t be too cruel when ya see it! lol Two of the lights are very white, the other is very orange/yellow. Iā??m hoping it will give my poor light starved plants a better chance. :D

check the temps quickly, if they're above 33c youre hurting them.

I'll have to get a thermometer but I'll nice and cool with the fan. Any drooping you see is probably due to the transplanting I did today...

Those are some weird ass looking plants. two 26/100w CFLs can be purchased at wallmart for $6. The ones you have now may be the wrong lighting spectrum, you want bright ass 6500ks. But no worries, you can save those ones you have if they are 2500k or so, for flowering. Also those lights are quite far away from the plants.

The type of light he is using puts out a BUTT LOAD of heat for the amount of light he gets. If he moved them much closer, he would fry his plants.

Listen to Dutch Masta,
Get the CFL lights. They are the new type of condensed fluoresces lumie lights. ( little tube lights) all curly. They are cheap and work well with vegging a plant. And put out very little heat, You can put them about 1"-2" from your plants.

I still find it hard to believe your plants are 60 days old. They are very small, and very stretched. not bushy at all.

LIGHT, PH, LIGHT,PH, LIGHT,PH..... SOIL. These IMO are the most important for a soil grow. Your lighting SUCKS.. I wish your lighting was a woman, I would date it. Sorry to give you ruff love, but it does. Go to Lowes hardware, or Homedepo and buy some CFL's like these KIND people have said.
Either that, or thow them outside. I used those type of bulbs for my first 2 weeks of my first grow. I did as these people said, and OH YAH.. my plants took off!!!

Best of luck on your grow. I really hope it works out for you.

Well I'm gonna have to get those lights so I'm gonna see what (if any thing) I can get from these plants and start again. I'm gonna start turning the lights off for 6 hours and see what effect it has. If I only get 1 bud I'll be happy for my 1st grow... just as long as it's not all for nothing!:( Thanks for the advice and tough love guys!:stoned:

Don't take this the wrong way, but your plants look like they are on the set of a 1970's porn.

Those can easily be moved to new lights and come out fine. Just do it within a week.
Repot quite a bit up the skinny stem in bigger pots with 50/50 perlite/earth and put under some fluors and they'll come out nice.
