So I recently had a revalation, after so many years of being a politically motivated person (since 7th grade), I can finally explain why since day one freedom in the USA has been a lie!
When all the hotshot powdered wig dudes got together to agree on the terms written in the constitution one brave soul stood up and stated that freedom should extend to natives, blacks, and every other man woman and child. This means despite so many years of struggle the idea of what freedom truely means was there since day one, unfortunaly the majority of the bigshots responded by shooting down this argument and continued to sign a substandard constitution that effectivly withheld the rights of many.
Its not uncommon to hear people boast about how free the United States is, however, unfortunaly thoes people are wrong. When the pilgrims came to the United States, they DID in fact come in search of freedom, but not true freedom, but instead freedom from a politically and religiously oppressive monarch. Whats important to understand about this is that although they were in factsearching for freedom, but the freedom they were searching for was freedom for the protestans not anyone else!
Thus since its conception the supposed Freedom in the United States has been one big lie! The whole give me your tired, your poor, your sick thing is just a load of crap!
PS - i kno my spelling sucks... get over it

Your theory about the "pilgrims" is not accurate. The idea that they all were seeking religious freedom is a common misconception. Of the one hundred ten Mayflower passengers, forty four called themselves "Saints", and were seeking religious freedom. They were protestants, but left the Church of England to set up their own organization - which was illegal. Sixty-six Mayflower passengers, called the "Strangers", were not part of the religious separatist movement, nor is there any evidence that they had any problems with England. One of my ancestors was John Howland. He arrived as an indentured servant to John Carver, who was chosen to be the governor of the new colony at Plymouth. George W. Bush is also a descendant of John Howland, and a 12th cousin of mine through this genealogical relationship.

Man, I don't think I'd be telling people that you are related to that moron. He must have gotten all the bad genes. So, are you a skull and boneser?

Mayflower passenger John Howland is an ancestor to President George Bush, and to First Lady Edith (Carrow) Roosevelt (Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt). Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford are descendants of John Howland's brother Henry. Winston Churchill is descended from John Howland's brother Arthur.
George W. Bush, the "moron", as you refer to him as, is related to many millions of people in America. It has been estimated that if his "cousins" all voted for him, he'd win by a landslide. If you have sny colonial New England ancestry, there is a good chance that you are related to him as well. The pilgrim John Howland alone is an ancestor to many Americans, and he is only one of many.
John Howland was washed overboard during the Mayflower voyage, and rescued. Below is a painting of the event. Had he not been saved, he would not have had any descendants, and someone else would have been the president. I wouldn't be here, either.:p
As to your "skull and bone" question no, I was not from a privlidged background or a student at Yale or any other Ivy League institution.

Well, I really don't know as as far back as I've traced it is to my great grandfather and he was a pioneer in wyoming. Geeze, I could be related to Cheney, perish the thought. I think there was an Indian in the woodpile as the saying goes and I'm 1/8 th cree or some kind of Indian.

They say that nobody in England, with roots going back very far, is more than a 25th cousin to others with a long history of English ancestry. It's actually easier for Americans to trace family history from the colonial times, because there were far less people, and accurate records were kept. I didn't do it until I was an adult, when I found out about, and proved, my Mayflower ancestry. There was a lot more interesting things that turned up in my research, especially regarding the American Revolution.
You can get a DNA test to determine whether you have any Native American ancestry. Some people have been able to cash-in on the Casino racket by combining vital records and scientific evidence of their heritage.
