Likely they are both working their tails off at minimum wage jobs, trying to support their kids. There was a time, long, long ago when a single paycheck was enough to support a family and still have a little for a nest-egg. When Moms had the luxury of being just a housewife and mother (instead of being a single Mom, the wage earner of the family and the "house slave" as so many are now). Those times are gone and I don't see them coming back. Another possibility is that their parents are speed freaks and/or alcoholics, and just don't give a damn! We have a lot of that around here, too.

Anyway, expect more of the same. Half the kids have zero supervision for at least 2 hours after school. Our community is lucky, we have a free after school program. More than 1 out of every 6 students in our school is enrolled. This does not include the kids watched by granny or a neighbor lady, nor the ones in a private day care (there are several near the school). I figure that only about half of the kids are "running wild"- but that's the half we have to worry about.

My family hails from the South, and there, we all watch each other's kids. That means Mizz Smith will give you lemonade and gingersnaps, and whip your ass when necessary.

When I see kids fucking up, I yell at them. Inevitably, their parent of choice shows up at my house, asking why I was taking their baby to task. I love this. To me, this is a prime opportunity to express my views, and also to express my concern for their little darling. I come off looking like a guardian angel, and my house is safe for another year.;)

beating a fool down is one thing.....on the other hand homeless amusement is fun at times and passes the day...fo show.. when your working in the trap. I like to sprayglue plASTIC RETURNABLE BOTTLES TO THE BOTTEM OF AN EMPTY DUMPSTER AND WATCH THE CRACKHEADS TRY TO PULL EM OUT.~NO HARM NO FOUL
