my chinchilla was awesome, his name was jabba.

he used to jump onto my desk and then my doorknob and hang out there.

also about ferretts, they love feet. they have a stinky feet fetish.

I never knew what a chinchilla looked like until I just searched it. Kinda sad that they make coats out of their fur...they are so small...it would probably take more than a few for one coat. I'm not a Peta person, but that's not cool.

I have a ferret named Goblin, an Iguana named Ceasar, and a tarantula named Knees. I am thinking of buying a hypomelanistic blood corn snake sometime in the near future.

I kept crawfish for a while in my freshwater tank... they are just hysterical... lil lobsters... when they saw me coming they'd climb up the plastic plants and stick their claws out of the water and snap them unti I fed them shrimp pellets.

I have to report that Knees is no longer with the living. I went to give him his daily ration of crickets an hour ago and he was dead. :( I had him for three years and during that time he brought joy to my life by allowing me to freak out quite a few highly stoned jerks. He was a good spider and shall be missed. When you spark up tonight people, spare a thought to Knees. :(

Okay, I'm a highly stoned jerk. I will cop to that. But I am truly sorry for your loss GreenLady. Now I feel jerkier than usual.

Knees, RIP buddy.

Nah Mrs. Greenjeans, you're cool. I understand that not everyone is comfortable with spiders. In fact that's why I bought Knees in the first place. I have arachnaphobia to the nth degree and thought taking care of a spider would help that. I got used to Knees after a few months, but wild spiders are another story. They still freak me out, especially if they jump on me without warning.

Mrs. Greenjeans
03-31-2007, 02:55 AM
Have you ever noticed that if you're camping, and smoking green in your tent, you become popular with spiders? This is a running joke with me and my smoking camping friends.

True story...my clothes dryer broke...the heating element went out, so I bought a new one and went into the dankass basement to install it. I was sitting on the concrete, wrenching away, when it felt like somebody was looking at me. I turned my head slowly like a chick in a bad horror movie...

5 little spiders! With 8 eyes apiece. 40 eyelenses checking me out. So I talked to them. Like so...

"I know you live here, but I do too, and I pay bills up in this motherfucker. You can watch, but if one of you crawls on me, I'm going to kill you. I don't want to kill you, but I will. Please don't make me kill you. I want to give you your respect."

Dryer got fixed, spiders left me alone. Henceforth, I talk to creatures.

i've wanted a few, never really had the money to spend on 'em... when i think 'exotic' by today's standards, mainly i mean the things hardly anyone keeps as pets, well in comparison to say dogs and cats.

tarantula's, scorpion's, sugar gliders are three i wanted... i still want them, but the wife is scared shitless of spiders... she'd kill me before letting me own one... scorpions are cool.. maybe i'll get one soon.. the wife isn't happy about the idea of having one of those, but i'm sure it's not as bad as a big assed spider o.0. sugar gliders are expensive...

but i have owned 3 snakes, 5+ iguana's, a t-something gecko, 2 other lizards (some desert lizard) box tortises, red eared turtles, newts, when my uncle lived with us when i was really young, he also had an electric eel, and a snake of his own, later he owned a hedgehog and a chinchilla... the hedge hogs are cool but dont'w alk barefoot in whatever room you keep them in, they're constantly shedding those spikes... it sucks to step on oneby accident.

Overly pigmented? Can you explain? Ise confuzzed.

GreenLadyOfDankDowns

I used to have a Lemur. Her name was Tapanga and she was a soda whore. If anyone had soda around her she would go and lay her head on their leg and sort of pet them and look up at them like "I am so cute, you must give me the soda. I will love you long time!" I didn't have her for long. I just fostered her for a rescue group for about three months. It was an interesting experience.

Hypomelanistic or rosy corn snakes carry a recessive trait that reduces the dark pigments causing the reds, whites, and oranges to become more vivid. Their eyes remain dark. These snakes range in appearance between amelanistic corns snakes to normals with greatly reduced melanin.

So, albino? Throw me a clue here, I'm a retard.

03-31-2007, 04:53 AM
lol, no not albino. hypomelanistic means lacking in the black and dark departments. they have color, but it's kinda like a negative of what it's supposed to be... if that helps. i have a crested gecko, lavender dalmation morph, hang on and i'll get a pic, if he hold's still...

Pretty babies, y'all!

So sorry to hear about Knees.

We used to have a few ball pythons, a bearded dragon and some chameleons. They were my favorites, we had a Panther chameleon that I raised from a tiny fella- he was about as long as one knuckle when we got him- and was almost a ft long when he was grown. It hurt for him to be on you by that time. Had a Carpet chameleon, and a Senegal chameleon he was beautiful. Now that my daughter is older I think I might like to have reptiles again. They are an awful lot of work though to keep them fed and warmed and clean.

Yeah, old houses can be really cool, but a lot of times they are filled with too many hassles to make them worth while.

PS) What morph is that corn snake?

i hope to one day quit my job and breed reptiles full time.

the cornsnake is a blue motley(anery+motely+dilute). dilute is a relatively new recessive gene in cornsnakes. its works the same way it does in dogs.

I got a few buddies to keep me company while I smoke..1 Angel Fish, 1 Albino rainbow shark, 1 Red tail shark and my personal favorite my Bala Shark...I just set the tank up a few days ago and it's pretty bare with only 1 rock and 1 (fake) plant..but there are a few Aponogeton bulbs growing, so in 2 weeks it should be fairly dense and nice...

got a veiled chameleon, Azuki.

and with him came 100 crickets, 40 silkworms, 50 mealworms, 30 waxworms, 25 Madagascar cockroaches and 30 superworms. lotta stuff to take care of for one freakin' lizard.
