u odn't really need to change it ever. It's just a personal choice. I like just leaving mine in but I had a friend who forced me to change it last week cause he doesn't really know much about bongs.

I always change the water if I'm using a water bong... I like to use ice water, so its gotta be cold water ya know...

I like keeping the water kinda clen, sometimes i just put the bong in the refrigerator (sp?) for a few mins and then when you smoke you can barely feel anything and you take a shitload of smoke, works really good.
