i know u cant be tested against ur will.

what im asking is lets say i go in to my Doc, with my mother, because im sick with an illness of somkind. and he says " we should screen ur blood to make sure you dont have ______ (Some Disease)" and i say ok. then we do the test yada yada. and he comes back and is like "Well you dont have any serious infections but ur blood did test positive for THC"

can a doctor do this. test ur blood for somthing u didnt give him permission to test for. and if he does.

if i am 16 and this happens is the Doctor patient confidentiality law in affect or can the doctor tell my mother.

i searched around and couldnt find the answer

i'd just like some answers not everyone telling me to do a search please, thanks

when iw as around 15 or so my doctor took a urine and blood sample from me for my ulcers or something like that, i cant really remember for sure why i was there other than the fact that i was ill. my results came back fine but with high levels of thc. my mom knew i smoked so i wasnt in trouble.

dunno if this helps but i think it pertains to the subject at hand.

Sup ,
It's against the law in the U.S to run a tox screen w/o your consent if I'm not mistaken .

i don't know if he needed to ask to test your blood, but he really shouldn't be able to take to your mom about it without your consent. HIPPA rules are pretty strict about breaking confidentiality, even with minors.

Fact is that they can...my best friend had her blood tested for thc...her doc comes back and is like i know you get stressed sometime but try wine instead of pot....then the doc tried to make her pay for the test which she wouldn't do cause she didn't know she was being tested for it
