i have to vote for rock. my musical taste is too broad to settle on just one genre, but rock would include classic, and bands like rise against(who i LOVE). my favorite song though is OAR - crazy game of poker.

Hip-hop. Real hip hop too, not shitty pop hip hop. Favorite song is Woman with the tattooed hands. Everything about it is just amazing. But I listen to any good music....not just a single genre.

I'm always so suprised that not a lot of people like hip-hop on a friggin' marijuana message board. It baffles me. I always thought the two went hand and hand. There's a lot of people living in the 70's and 80's on this board, but don't get me wrong...great music came from those decades. I'm just saying, it's weird...everyone I've come across in terms of weed has had at least a little hip-hop love in them. You wouldn't want to go to a party listening to hard rock or metal would you? I dunno, I don't think that would be much of a good time. You gotta have those up-tempo banging beats with that pumping bass that will get everyone on their feet.

Anyway, I love all music...I just wanted to just point out what I've noticed. I like shit from all genres, I just have a slight passion for hip-hop. Why? No clue, it just grew on me since around middle school...and that was that. I like music that makes my head bounce. A lot of rock sounds the same to me, because a lot of it is made using the same instruments. With hip-hop, the possiblities are endless really.

That's where my passion is different. Don't get me wrong, I like hip-hop, but the way you love hip-hop, I love rock. But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate hip-hop. It's just not my preference. It doesn't mean I don't at all, my friend gave me the new ELP album, and I thought it was pretty good, the progression of underground hip-hop artists using indie tracks as their beats. In a way, both the genres go hand-and-hand these days. At a party of club, it's different. You want some stuff to dance to. You want a beat to get the girls asses shaking. That's different.

First off i wanna say i have much love for a lot of rap music, mostly underground rap. Im not big on the stuff on mtv about money and objectifying women. The rap i like, alot of wu-tang, eyedea & abilities, Tribe called Quest, Jedi mind tricks, murs. not really typical mainstream rap or hip-hop like 50-cent/gunit that kinda stuff.

Anyway, i think your views on rock music might be a little distorted, due to all the music they play on fuse/mtv. There is alot of shitty rock, probably more shitty rock than good rock. There are many individual and unique sounding rock bands too, nothing youll hear on the radio though, but whatever, in the end it all comes down to personal prefrance

toke on. toke on.

I never said I didn't like rock people. I like ALOT of rock. I was just saying there are a lot of hip-hop haters here, and I was suprised because it's a cannabis board, and I thought weed and hip-hop were synonomous.

Yo DonSmokin i feel ya on that reggae man i love it. Id have to say right now my favorite artist is Damian Marley (when it comes to reggae) my overall favorite artist is OAR though, for some reason every one of their songs takes me away. but yeah im actually on a search for more reggae though right now i got the basics like toots, the marleys, tosh, harper but i wanna find more if you could help me out thatd be tight. i recently came across Fat Freddy's Drop which their album Based On a True Story is just chill as hell i love it. Another good one I found was The Easy Star All Stars who did a cover version of the album Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. But yeah dood anything reggae im down
