First Grow log

Hello,

Well ill start out by saying that i have full permission from my mother to grow in her basement (going to college next year she want me to have practice on 2 seed before i go out )

I have 2 Bc Sweet Tooth Gen 3 seeds that i picked up from my local bong shop, n he gets them directly from bc deport (slow service another discussion)

I am grown under a 40" fluorescent light with two "cool white" bulbs in for veg n 2 "aquirim lights" for flowering (2500k) witch is mounted under a counter that is 4ft high.

i have an emergency blanket covering the open section of the counter, and lined the inside of the room with heavy duty plastic (witch i picked up from work).

I germinated my seeds Friday, and they where ready to plant saterday, i put them under 1/4 " of soil and pre watered the soil before planting the seeds.

Today (March 26) i have two little plants that look healthy...


I have picture but my picture are to big to load onto this site can anyone help me with this?

well i checked on them today n they seem to be very tall n skinny there about one inch high and still only have 2 larges leafs (2 inner smaller leafs are growing)

can anyone help tell me if this is a typicle sign of stretching?

If they are too large then open them in MSPAINT, and then Click File>Save As, and save them as anything but make sure it ends in ".GIF", or just select that on the scroll down list that you should see with all the file name extensions like .PNG, .GIF, or .JPEG.

well today when i checked up on them one fo the root where stickin above the ground, i raised the dirt level so it covered the roots....anyone know a reason why it will do this?

I am trying to get a pic from every night when these two plant start out i don't know why i think it pretty neat how much progress they can make...heres today pics...

i checked on them this morning (friday) and i switched them around, i noticed on the cardbored holder thing there was green and white little fluff balls (wtf?) anyone know what this is n if it is bad for the plant.,....i wasnt able to get a picture of it...sorry about spelling in a rush

well my friend gave me his old "GE Lucalox Lamo 150 Watt high pressure sodium" wat light does this give off and with other lights should i get to ensure i have the proper lighting (this is for my cabnet, next grow)

Do you speak French dominantly by chance?

I like the grow, sounds like you have made a couple mistakes I have. Soil... Promix is best. Even add in another 30% perlite if you want for extra root growing goodiness. My soil was too compact and the roots started to get suffocated.

i picked up a 70 watt hps light ment for outside, i didnt relise how hot one of these gets but i think it should be fine for the cabnet i am going to put it in....

this first two pics are of the light would this light work in a space that is 2 1/2 feet long, 3' 1/4" high and 1 1/2 feet deep.....

your plants are looking good so far. Its probably time to transplant to a bigger container, when you do be sure to fill the soil to the very top where the leaves start forming, this will give you a better root system

Good looking plants so far, but I'm wondering why you're lst them (as it appears) so soon. That will make the whole plant grow to that one side, as it hasn't even started branching yet. A better way, would be to top your plants, and then lst the resulting branches, ensuring a heavier yield. Good luck.

lookin back on my post's i notice i never got an answer on the 70watt hps light, will these be enough light to flower 4-5 plants(or at less these 2 for now?)

well i had a problem today, my father was teaching me how we use to top his back in the day, he did the first one fine but then he had a little slip on the second one, i tryed cloning the little leaves that came off it (inch) in hope that they will become clone but i have a feeling it to early i will post pics up of the damage shortly

the second one looks good.. but the first one i think you may have topped a little too early..but not a big deal...keep it up mang . the second one will most likely develope two more colas all though they are very small now..

well i picked up a digital timer today and i set it to 18/6 they where on 27/0 because i didn't have a timer and i though leaving it one was better then switching it off randomly, ill post pics tomorrow

yea that light will def help, keep it cool with its own fan and in the middle. i had got a 50 watt hps off someone who told me he was high when he was in a park and seen it above a bathroom and ripped it of the wall for himself but ended up not being able to wire it together. im not normaly a person to buy,sell or aceppt anything ripped off or stolen but for a smoke session to get it for free not a bad deal. that and 6 cfls (27 watt) i pulled about 4 oz
from two plants in the same container (not a good idea to have 2 plants in the same pot) but they were in a 5 gal bucket. i was happy with that. if ur not doing it too big i feel a 70watt- 150watt hps with some side cfls is enough for personal stash every 2 months or so if u got a veg chamber.
oh i grew my babies for veg bout 4 months and flower for about 9-10 weeks they wernt at full potental competed for root space water light but still theres opportunity. jus gotta rig it the right way.good luck.:thumbsup:

i dont know if this is the right question for the section but if you have two strains lets say strain a and strain b, how do u chose witch is the "father" n who is the mother?

Hey Mr Blue,

You can't force your plants to reproduce (Flower) until they are sexually mature. When you start from a seed, just like people, or elephants, or garlic, the organism that you are husbanding has to progress through all the nessessary stages of growth in its life cycle. First of all, take a deep breath, hold it for a couple seconds, then exhale slowly, through your nose right onto your plants. Next, congratulate yourself because you're doing a helluva good job. Then...RELAX...(Oh yeah, that breath thing was for you not the plants)remember your plants know what to do it's you who doesn't. Let them grow. The more growth tips (the ends of the branches) there are, the more colas you'll get. And you can't get growth tips without, yep, growth. I 'aint tryin' to sound condescending or anything like that, and if I get a little bit preachy, I apologize in advance, and likewise, if you tell me to "pound sand you pompous son of a jackal I'll take no offence, but if you don't know the answer to something that I do, I will give freely that which was freely given to me. Know this and believe it :thumbsup:. OK, we can't do anything until we know which ones are the little girls. And we can't find that out until they are mature enough to show us. The sign that they're old enough is alternating nodes. The node is where the petiole(s) (leaf stem(s)) are growing out of a branch. On an immature plant, each node has 2 leaves, one on each side. As the plant matures, you'll notice that the new nodes have only one leaf, and as you follow the branch out toward the tip, the leaves come out on alternating sides. Alternating Nodes, work that phrase into the nezt verbal intercourse :eek: (hey, minds out of the gutter please, I said verbal ;) ) you have (about growing the ganja, that is :rasta: ) and check out the looks you get. Anyhow, until the nodes alternate, your job is to get the plants to the bushiest managable size you can. And that will happen at the time it's supposed to, so relax a little.

ahhh one of the many thing i need to buy, a ph meter no clue but i only give them bottle water (that way i know it been cleaned)

You can get cheap ph kits at pet stores , only a few dollars. Or you can get a ph soil probe from gardening/home centers in the gardening sections really reasonable priced too. Keeping you plants ph within range really makes growing a whole lot easier. BGhydro also has a soil test kit with ph up/down and the ph testing solution for like $15 dollars usd. not a bad price and its got all you need to keep your ph in range.

Hey Blue,

You can go with what I got and just get a security light at a hardware store. Lowes, Home Depot. Should be something like that in your neighborhood.
Make sure you get the HPS one. ;)

i am very interested in your grow. My setup is similar, soil grow.

i have 150watt hps, and 2 cfl's 30 watt and 2 4ft t8 32watt assemblys for lighting.

wow i thought people forgot about this well it turned out they where both male so i killed them i have a new thread in indoor grow using my cabinet with two 70 watt hps, one pc fan, one inline fan (115cfm) n passive intake.... the one thing about this is that i have to run it during the night 9pm to 9 am that solves my temps issue but my temp outside where reaching 92 with the light it was at 105. all 4 plant female this time
