Hey guys,
i have a couple plants that i started under 3- 42w cfl's and now put them under a 400w metal halide w. a room temp. of about 70-75 degrees F. two plants are about 6 inches tall and they look like they are in shock, the 3 seedlings seem fine though, any ideas, i'm new to the indoor scene and have been reading up on the forums...are they in shock and will they be all right, they just seem real droopy, no signs of yellowing or anything yet.
Thanks

they have been under a 24 hr light cycle with the cfl's....should i maybe given 18hrs with the metal halide for a little while then go back to 24 or leave everything as it is....the light is about 24 in. above the plants and the temp hasn't gone over 75 w. an average of about 72

Hard to tell without pics...and that's not much info. Maybe over/under watering? What kind of soil? Etc...
Pics?
Did you rate your own thread 5*s to get it noticed? :)

Heya Curious
The MH will put off more heat that the plants probly wont be used to from cfl's so just keep the light a bit higher for the first week or two.
This is why i only use 18/6 and never 24 hour light :

Some pics will help everyone diagnose problems ;)

IA. The Mh is probably a bit too close, going from cfl's. Make sure you have plenty of circulation too. Bree

you should do 16/8 anyhow i used to do 24/7 but since i changed to 18/6 i encourage everyone to do so also. it gives the plant a breather and a time to grow roots and no shock. no slower growing or anything infact even faster in some cases.
