The woman has not been arrested, or charged with a crime. I believe that she initiated the lawsuit against the government herself.

There have been other threads about this topic:

That really sucks ass. I think i read about that case she the lady with a brain tumor and had to use a wheel chair untill she started to smoke weed? Then she could walk and shit?
I might be thinking of someone else tho.

Shit like this is why i decided when my teacher let us choose what we could write about for our research paper. I chose to prove "Marijuana is not harmfull to your health." If anyone could give me any valid not biast(Sp?) websites on facts about how marijuana effects your health that would great:D

A federal appeals court has decided that if the only thing that will keep a patient alive is medical marijuana, that individual may be put in prison, deprived of the substance, and left to die. AND THAT IS GOING WAY BEYOND WHY THOSE FUCKERS SAY ITS ILLIGAL ANYWAY. Fucking pissing me off. Its illigal cause it hurts you. BUT IF YOUR GUNNA DIE AND ITS HELPIN YOU LIVE IT SHOULD BE LEAGAL FOR THAT FUCKING PERSON. Goddamnit im so pissed now.

you people sure are getting worked up over very little. First off the article itself is very unsubstantial as it comes from the works of Whitley Strieber and co. Sure it is probably a legit news story but there are very few details, the report itself is only a paragraph long.

What I would like to know is the facts they didn't mention such as; what medical condition exists today that would make a person dependent on marijuana for their life. As far as I know there is no such "illness" so we take a look deeper.

So the court decided that they would let a citizen "die at the cost of the federal legislation" yet they never said what happened or how she would die. After all what would they do that would "let" her die? - pull the plug on her vaporizer maybe?

Actually I did read the original article but I cannot remember where. She says that mj is the only thing that relieves her headaches and anorexia from her brain tumor. Whether or not the law is "correct" is less of signiicance than what the law is supposed to be there for.....peoples' health and safety, is it not? Excuse me but the court system lets people slide right, left and sideways for MANY lesser reasons than this woman presents.
